One more.

As a child I absolutely loved the 1953 War of the Worlds and watched it any chance I could get. I bought the book from a fair in elementary school although it was above my reading level at the time. And I also owned the 1938 Orson Welles radio broadcast.

After 30 some years, I felt like a kid on Christmas Day to finally see, and hear, a tripod on the big screen

Good call. I have a similar story in loving that original movie when I was growing up, watching it whenever it was on, and reading the book. When my wife and I were still dating, the original movie was the first movie we watched together.
