I saw either Midway or Tora Tora Tora (in surround sound!!!) at a theater on the west side of Houston and my aunt and uncle took us to Antonio's Flying Pizza first.
It was a good night.
My brother and I came up from Portland for a week with my cousins. That week included:
Midway/Tora
Pizza
Astros game
Houston air show including Blue Angels
NASA
Zoo
Swimming at Rice Natatorium
Astroworld all day and until the fireworks shot off
Swimming at some giant outdoor pool near the Dome, because the Goodyear blimp was flying over and we kept seeing it circle
Having the run of Rice Village during the day
Galleria trip and I think ice skating
Pretty great week for a kid
Already established that you saw Midway in 'Sensurround' as it was actually called. Earthquake was the first film that had it and Midway the second. You saw it at the old Tower theater most likely. That's where I saw it with my dad and we had to drive 20 miles from SE Houston to see it there as there weren't a ton of theaters that had the setup for it (or maybe it was limited release when I saw it). That is technically, but barely considered 'west Houston' as it was in the Montrose area as I recall.
