This scene blows me away, given that it was live action in the foreground and miniature/painting in the background yet looks as real as can be.

Typically third movies in a series are not that great, but The Last Crusade is an exception. It wasn't because of the Nazis, the Grail, or the action. It was because of the bickering relationship between dad and son, and this smile on son's face says it all.
