One of the best shows of last year returns next month. A rare thing nowadays for a big-budget series like this - two consecutive seasons in two consecutive years. And while season three likely won't drop in 2025, it'll be for good reason - Rebecca Ferguson says seasons three and four (which are currently in development) are looking to shoot back-to-back, all at once, and my guess is both release in 2026, if not, say, early 2026 and early 2027, respectively. Either way, they have plan, an endgame, and it'll be a four-season run all said and done, told over five-ish years, which is pretty refreshing/cool...

Also, just to be clear, this thread is NOT for book discussion.

NO book spoilers, hints, etc, even behind spoiler tags.

This thread is for the show ONLY, as if the books don't exist.

Oh and btw, season two of Silo will lead straight into season two of Severance. Apple's two biggest sci-fi hits will air back-to-back. In fact, the Silo season two finale will air the same night season two of Severance premieres, and what a massive night of TV that will be...

I hope they explain why they would bother having some sort of fancy helmet that makes bleak landscape look green and flowery just for people to wear before they die. That plot twist made no sense to me.

I'm certain literally one of the biggest questions about the plot will be answered at some point.

I think there's a lot of interesting possibilities. The simplest to me is that they're afraid of something out there so they want to make sure whoever goes out cleans the camera, so they feed that into the helmet so that everyone that goes out has the same reaction "i need to go to the camera so the people inside can see this."

But very excited for this show to come back, loved season one.

I haven't read the book, but I asked this question to somebody who has and he basically told me that that part is not in the book (so not a spoiler). So I guess this whole plot point is 100% from the show producers.

The PTSD that I got from GoT makes me a little concerned about that.

Yikes, that may be true but, with how far the show fell off from the first few episodes, it is pretty sad that there wasn't much to come out last year that was better.

I don't remember much from season 1 but, iirc, there was a ton of contrived drama to advance the plot (nonsensical), really bad cgi at points and really bad acting from multiple leads. Particularly in the latter half of the season.

I think they could have made all of season one into like 4-5 episodes, but season 2 probably needs to take a full season. The first season definitely had slow points because of that. I look forward to that changing.

I disagree with about 90% of this, as you're probably the only person I've seen express most of these opinions, but to each their own. Was it flawless? Not by a long shot. That said, season one is currently 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, and I'd say most posters here seemed to love it, to the point of being stoked for season two, more so than for a new season of most shows I can remember.

Especially in the sci-fi/fantasy space. Only thing I'm equally or more excited about returning is probably Andor, whenever that finally is.

Yeah, what he said. It's been a long time since I read them all, but I disagree "it's not in the books." It's the early main plot line from what I recall.

If you read the books while wearing the helmet, you wouldn't have seen it.

Sounds like, and I could be REACHING but, the episodes in the new upcoming season will possibly answer questions that you might have?!?! WHAT A CONCEPT

It's inevitable, unfortunately. I actually tried to answer the first question without bringing up the books, but gave up.

I will say that the books did a good job of answering pretty much every question. So, if the show is similar then you won't have to worry about this being Lost 2.0.

And if anyone wants me to remove this post then say the word.

The concern is that the explanation will be lame. That's the concept you aren't getting.

Need to fix your Silo dates in Jan.

I've got 1/17/2025 blocked out on our family calendar already. Nobody is allowed to schedule anything that night.

Nobody can determine if they are lame except you, but I wouldn't get too worked up about it right now.

I thought this was the obvious explanation and didn't even think about it needing to be explained in season 2.

I'm glad they at least have an explanation. Nothing is worse than a show that doesn't have one (like that Leave the World Behind Netflix movie). It's fine if they don't spoon feed it to you, but at least HAVE an explanation.

You're not my real dad.

I didn't even know this was a show. I read the books way back in the early days of KDP and when it was just Wool by itself for a while. I think I read them even before even Redstone did. It was my first foray into true indie writing and opened my eyes to the potential there when I saw how good Howey's story was.

Got some catching up to do I see…

It's pretty clear there were a few book readers making 'predictions '. Hopefully they don't come back
