Went to see this last night. As a big horror fan, this was easily one of the wildest horror movies I've seen in a long time.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it's definitely a HUGE swing that I could see not landing with a lot of people. Very much a love it or hate it kind of movie.

But if you enjoy body horror, black comedy, satire, or Neon/A24 type of indie horror, I very much recommend checking this one out.

Two things in particular that stood out to me were the cinematography and the score/sound design.

I noticed several direct homages to The Shining, such as this.

This movie was ****ing wild. Surprised it hasn't gotten more traction on this board. It's a future cult classic for sure.

This movie is basically all my Twitter timeline has been talking about this week. And while I'm certainly no prude, I'm just not a big fan of "body horror," so I don't know if I want to see this in theaters or not. Thinking I may wait for streaming, but these reactions certainly have me reconsidering.

So this was my concern as well. Anytime I hear "body horror" - it always gives me serious pause... but I kept hearing so much about how wild it is and I was so intrigued, I had to bite the bullet and go see it in theaters. I had some anxiety beforehand because I thought it would be over the top gross.

Don't get me wrong... it is over the top, but I loved it. And the first hour and a half is such fantastic filmmaking, it definitely deserves the theater experience. It's a great movie, and a really well done stylized satire. I'm looking forward to watching it again.

Honestly man, I think you'll be fine. I say go see it. I think you'll laugh more than be grossed out.

The black comedy is what draws me to this movie.

And other stuff

Watching the trailer, all I could think of was Requiem for a Dream. Is that far off-base?

I definitely made that comparison as well while watching it. There are a lot of similarities especially in the technical aspects and style. This movie is funnier though, whereas that movie was just depressing as hell.

That's good to know, because I just got depressed watching the trailer so it turned me off of the movie.

The first hour and the last hour felt like entirely different movies to me. The first half had a Severance vibe (if Severance had a ton of nudity). The second half...I'm not really sure WHAT kind of vibe that was.

What in the Kentucky Fried **** did I just watch. Holy crap what a wild movie. Incredible film making and when I thought it was over there was still 30 more minutes and body horror I wasn't expecting considering what we saw was already pretty wild. I think we could have trimmed a little as it is a tad long but wow. I kept putting this off and glad to watch in theaters. The last 5 minutes did border on the absurd a little but I can chalk that up to Elizabeth's mental state

Quaid was a disgusting ****. Moore and Qualley were great

Of all the gross stuff in the movie, nothing matches eating the shrimp. Which is kind of amazing.

Mostly just bumping this because it's still in theaters and people should go. Also the trailer is really great - saw it before Speak No Evil and it's what sold me.

This movie was nuts in the best way. Like Cronenburg meets Black Mirror. Aside from Margaret Qualley being a smoke show for 2 hours, there was a lot to like about this one. Some good black comedy, neat camera shots, good body horror. It was bold, sexy, gross, and over the top. Felt like a movie from a different era, I really enjoyed it.

You can see more of her in the CoenEsque "Drive Away Dolls"....which to be honest wasn't very good, especially her terrible Texas accent.

Well that was interesting...I enjoyed most of it. But I absolutely hate needles so I had my wife describe a few scenes while I tried not to think about it. If you don't like needles, might want to skip this one.

Overall pretty entertaining and definitely wild

Definitely a movie worth watching though really weird. Maybe it was the abundance of T&A but I liked it!

Started typing this out before the ending and have to add it does get too weird at the end.

And also Margaret Qualley gets all the deserved attention, but damn Demi Moore is still hot

Saw it in a theater two days ago, theater was still 2/3rds full despite it being out a while.

I really enjoyed the experience, on a very base level I am a sucker for over the top sound effects and slowed down voice effects. Like, I'm still 9 years old so these things work for me. I laughed out loud multiple times and work by the foley artists. There was a lot of humor but it was also a scathing commentary on the entertainment industry and open wound (literal) look at the female experience.

It was also an interesting approach to a not entirely new topic, and I loved the fast pace of the movie. Some aspects were a bit cartoonish, some seemed very real. The lead characters acted their parts in a way that was appropriate for the tone of the movie, not super impressive dramatic performances but very much appropriate for what I think the director wanted.

It was a fun time in the theater and I'm glad I saw it, probably not one I'd watch again but that is not a criticism per se.

Some of the replies above just commenting on the appearance of the leads just seems so......perfect.

Paid $20 to stream this and it was money well spent.

Black Mirror, Requiem for a Dream and the Twilight Zone smoke meth and have a three way.

I couldn't believe what I was watching. It was so interesting but also ridiculous. It got so gross I had to turn away. But then I would start looking again…. like a horrific car crash…. only much much worse! And just when I thought it couldn't get grosser, it did!

I got my parents to watch this. Gave them zero context other than Demi Moore is getting Oscar buzz for it.

Mom was very confused. Dad liked it because it was so ridiculous.
