"Weekend in Taipei" came out yesterday and I went to see it today at the movies. Felt a lot like "Fast and Furious", fun to watch as long as you turn your brain off and don't try to make sense of the completely contrived plot.
Great acting by both Sung Kang and Gwei Lun-Mei. Luke Evans plays the stereotypical "elite lawman who hasn't been promoted because he does things his own way" part stereotypically which felt on purpose.
Some nice car racing, martial arts fighting, and gun fights.
Very little bad language, some innuendo but very tame by modern move standards, lots of violence. Totally okay for teenagers.
3/5 stars
