I would highly encourage any of y'all who grew up with a relevant NASA to listen to this two season podcast. The first season is literally about the 13 minute journey to the moon from the command module. Lots of interviews with people who built the spacecraft and a fantastic presentation.

For all you Apollo 13 junkies, season two is about this flight. The interviews with guys like Lovell, Haise, John Aaron, and a host of other Mission Control guys is fascinating.

Available on whatever podcast platform you use.

One more thing - Hans Zimmer does the music.

Thank you for this recommendation. Amazing how many of the mission control guys are still around to talk about it since most were barely into their 20s when it happened.

I've been writing down names as a friend of mine's dad was at NASA then. I want to ask him if he knows any of them who are still in the Houston area. Man, how cool would it be to talk to one or more of them. Fascinating.

Charlie Duke lives here in New Braunfels, seems Lovell live in Illinois.

At the time of Apollo 13 he lived in Horseshoe bay I think they moved to Illinois to be closer to their kids.

I'm not a huge podcast guy, but I'm two episodes into this and really enjoying it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Just wrapped season 1. Really enjoyed it. There were a lot of details I've never heard.

Thanks for sharing!

This and the podcast are going on my list. Another good one that I haven't seen mentioned here but most of you probably know is When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions.
