This video explains my exact problem with so many shows and movies these days. Particularly noticeable in Rings of Power and damn near every Star Wars Disney+ show.

Compounding that "fake" feeling with movies & shows these days is that picture setting they have on most new TVs. Can't remember what it's called, but it basically makes everything brighter and "crisper".
I LOATHE that setting. My in-laws have that on their tv all the time and it takes every bit of strength for me to not change it for them. But I'm also the type that despises overhead lights, and they prefer to watch TV with every ceiling light on.

Clever username that's meaningful to you. Nicely done. And it appears to be your original one. Some on here can't say that, because their middle name is...Triggered.Bruce Almighty said:Aggie Therapist said:

My son's middle name is Bruce.

Wouldn't that be 1% story and 99% look?aTmAg said:
I think the problem with movies/shows today is 99% story and 1% look. The stories are simply too boring and simplified.

That horse riding Galadriel on the beach scene was so, so over the top. I honestly couldn't believe they put that out there. Completely took me out of the show.

Though a valid criticism I would gladly accept all the movies looking too clean in exchange for being able to see what's on screen. So many movies now are so dark that you can't see what's going on until you're watching it at home and can increase the brightness. Dune being one of the worst offenders in recent memory, and I love both of the films, but they don't make it easy to see what's going on in the theater. I don't remember that being an issue until recently.
