I quit watching Dexter after season 4. I really have no clue why I stopped.. I enjoyed seasons 1-4 and thought season 4 was the best, but I just stopped. My wife decided to watch it post-partum with our second and I caught snippets of season 5 and 6 and it doesn't seem I missed anything.

I did as well. But it was for them killing off Rita. I was not pleased.

i love this show.

the cast is fantastic. they interact much more like TOS/TNG than any other Star Trek shows.

they seem to be having fun and are not being put in stupid melodrama situations to create conflict inorganically.

and the show is not dark and mopey like Discovery,

I am more willing to give this one show a pass than most others.

Don't get me wrong, Discovery was fiery hot garbage. I held out hope this series would be better. Checked out. I was done hoping for something better and had better things to do.

You missed out on an all time great sitcom for, in my opinion, a silly, minor reason. Leslie Knope as a character is a progressive who believes in government. It makes sense that certain democrats are her heroes. And even then, they have fun with it with her lustful obsession with Biden.

And as a foil for Leslie, you have Ron Swanson, an all time great libertarian. Two intelligent coworkers who respect each other despite (or maybe because of) their different beliefs. What a concept!

Didn't ruin the series for me, but I shut off House of Cards after the Season 1 episode where he fakes the congressman's suicide. Haven't watched any more episodes.

Also didn't ruin the series for me, but the Fishes episode of The Bear pretty much made me decide it wasn't a show I was going to stick with.

Andy is the star of that show and makes it what it is. After he got super famous and didn't have such a prominent role, the show went downhill big time.

Scrubs. It ended with the amazing finale of season 8. Season 9 never happened.

Didn't ruin the series but the Supernatural finale was so disappointing

Oh, I watched the whole series. Just never rewatched it. And yeah, Ron Swanson is the GOAT.

The final episode of Home Improvement.

I still go back and watch a lot of reruns cause it's still a great show….but I've never gone back and watched the final episode since I first saw it air for its premiere…..

*****t's Creek. Brilliantly funny until, as usual, the writers/characters got full of themselves and decided to get preachy.
Specifically, I'm talking about the episode where David does the cringy lap dance for another dude to Tina Turner's 'Simply The Best'.

Thanks, I'm out.

Oh I don't agree with this at all. That finale fit in perfectly with that show. What was dumb about it- the gag of them picking up and moving the house?

Walking Dead - they spend almost an entire season walking and horseback riding everywhere, and as soon as Lori Grimes get's the vehicle started she drives it and crashes.

The Americans - I don't recall the exact POI, maybe Nina, but some informant was in a park. That big headed CIA guy Stan, knew where they were and rushed to the park to get that person. Meanwhile Liz and Philipp hear of it afterwards and still managed to get to the park well before the CIA. Keri Russell's butt almost kept me in it.

You should re-visit. Arguably Top 5 drama all-time.

I posted this in another thread, and please don't f16 this thread, but:

The "racism caused your cancer…" episode (really that moment specifically) killed New Amsterdam for me.

Nothing to do with the politics of any of it…just the absolute absurdity of that line. I heard it, my wife (who was in the kitchen) said "what did he just say?..", I rewound so she could hear and I could confirm what I'd heard, and I turned it off..

Another vote for Walking Dead

When Negan finally got put in jail/holding room, I said to a friend "They will forget to lock the door..." Sure enough, one day he walked out the unlocked cell door! Should have killed him in the first place. I was done.

Game of Thrones penultimate episode. Dog****. I was thinking of this the other day - she frees the slaves, gets the Greyjoys to stop pillaging, is basically the hero we all needed and then goes crazy out of the blue.

Side note - I quit TWD the episode BEFORE Negan's first appearance. Maybe even mid episode. Just got called away and never went back, and never really had cause to regret it. It had gotten so samey.

watching them portray the Secretary of State in 1865 as some literal private detective and action hero getting into hand to hand combat with Confederate spies..

The entire series was built around Binford Tools being a top end brand that early on in the series Tim was willing to lose his job over his boss trying to make him promote a tool he didn't like….great episode btw.

And in the final few episodes of Season 8 leading up to the finale we get:

Random new boss for Binford who's not even fun to hate (clearly written to be hated).
Binford making decisions that Tim, Al, and Hidey all hate.
Bud (former boss) just randomly disappears with no word to Tim leaving crap boss in charge.
Turn Tool Time into a Jerry Springer episode which was just cringe inducing to no end.
Al gets married to a character that had only been introduced earlier that season.

It was as if they had no idea how to end the show so they brought in new characters just so they could have something "big" happen and it felt 100% forced.

Suspicion on AppleTv. Was a fun mini series and at the very end they turned it into an asinine man made climate change boogeyman. At the very ****ing end. **** your crazy ideological not-science. Xyz ruin everything.

Was a 'bottle episode' - they had spent the budget on another episode and had to figure out how to save some money, so it was mostly a single, indoor episode.

Assuming you stopped watching, you're missing out. That episode was an odd departure, but the rest of the show has been great. Four seasons, all strong.
I didn't - kept going and have been glad I did. I might have missed the spirit of this thread - my reply would have been better for a "single episode that ALMOST killed a show for you"

The real answer to this question is the Jack tattoo episode of Lost.

That was the clear "we're running out of ideas here."

The end date was announced a few weeks later.

Out of all the Star Trek that has been made since the OS, Strange New Worlds is the closest to the OS. THIS episode was silly, but I appreciated that it was still in the spirit of the OS.

And it was all explained by science…
Subspace Rhapsody is right up there with The Trouble with Tribbles for me. Loved it. Kind of amazing they had that much vocal talent in the cast.

End of game of thrones does make me care very little about the entire world/universe and House of Dragon. Season 1 of House of Dragon didn't really change that for me and don't care about season 2.

I wish HBO would move on to a different fantasy universe.

Love the series but wasn't a fan of that episode. However it did give us a Klingon boy band that made me chuckle.
