How long do you want to ignore this user?
I just watched this (again) last night. It's been awhile but I enjoyed it like the other half dozen times I've watched it. I typically get into a show, movie, or one of the actors and start researching it/them.

Anyways, so I began digging in after the movie was over.

1. Apparently the entire movie was shot at the school's location. They never left campus
2. Main North HS was built in 1970, and closed down un 1981. They kept the school near it, open and that school was opened in 1929!!!
3. The library in the movie was actually the school's gym.
4. The school is now used for a bunch of different departments.. Sheriff, Illinois Enviromental Ptotection and a bunch of others

5. The XFL had a team using the HS complex for training, and players would routinely walk by the library set.
6. Nick Colosantro, Coach from Cheers, was the first choice for the AP part. Anthony Michael Hall saw Paul Gleason in Trading Places and recommended John Hughes go see the movie. Gleason got the part
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

I was thinking they shot Home Alone there too, but it was a different Chicago area high school.
