I'm still watching and like the show. Something seems a little off, as it's not quite as good as I was expecting, but I still find the sisterhood storyline pretty compelling.

I'd like to think, and hope, that the plot seems to drag right now because later in the season is when the ish wil;l hit the proverbial fan.

This is a show that is taking itself way too seriously.

Everything is 100% somber and the acting isn't the greatest. (sex scenes notwithstanding) I half expect Common from the Silo series to pop out somewhere with his blank stare and flat dialogue.

My wife was in the room with me working on Christmas decorations while I was watching the latest episode and after the third actress she recognized from Bridgerton, she thinks the show is a repackaged Bridgerton (with less sex) made to appeal to men. lol and ironic.

I also think the flashback plot is stronger than the main plot but as someone who is relatively new to the Dune universe I am still enjoying the show and eager to see where it goes.

I really thought HBO was getting back to it's roots with 2 gratuitous sex scenes in as many episodes but was disappointed that there was actually some plot element there.

Yes, I was like, she changed a lot after being so compassionate for the horse and then doing what she did.

Agreed. The feud is a nice backdrop/driver for many of the characters.

I'm just having a hard time still caring about this. I'll finish it out, in hopes of it getting better after all of this set up.

The ability to smell people's emotions, and reading them in other ways. The art of seduction. The ability to kill someone by 100 different ways without the use of weapons.

It's all so assuming without explaining why these women are badasses. Just a bunch of political drama so far and I think the show kind of sucks.

My interpretation is the leader that died wanted Valya because she had discovered the voice. She saw that as the future and wanted her to lead to teach through subtle application of force when needed. The finger tap is a trained way for them to enter a trance and become lie detectors. This is what the other lady that Valya killed wanted to focus on instead of genetic manipulation, prophecy, assassinations, and the voice.

Do you want a peaceful sisterhood or terrifying manipulative witches. It is clear 10,000 years later which faction won out.

The fact that vengeful Harkonnen mass murderers upset about some deserved calumny fully co-opted the Bene Gesserit to their designs and secretly employ AI because they can get away with it kind of sucks any rooting interest out of the series.

Especially because you know the bad guys win even if our two sisters die in furtherance of their goals. Definitely not digging the Sisterhood origin story of two plucky Harkonnens stamping out Atriedes and bending the Imperium to their will.

But it's my genre and it's well produced and visually fun. I guess we can count on the vestigial Atriedes man at arms making it out alive with the princess as far as low stakes involvement.

4 straight episodes out of 4 with someone putting a knife to their own throat. Valya commanded 3 in 3 episodes with the voice and this one starts with someone doing it in a dream state

The Atredies guy meets with Ixian. Ixians come from planet IC. A misunderstanding of Roman numeral 9. They are the best engineers and makers of technology in the universe.

How do these other lords not see how they are being manipulated by the BG? They show up at Harkonnen's with a different house, both told by their truthsayer to do so. Only to see Mother Superior,a Harkonnen, there.

The drawing sequence was a cool way to draw the blue eyes of Dune. Using the blank space of the blue paper.

Excellent plan by the Queen planned and enacted to get her husband to act

A face dancer! A human that can change shape engineered by the Bene Tleilax. Very painful for them to change appearance. Again they are messing with the time line because face savers are new in the original Dune books set 10,000 years in the future
