Wife and I finished it last night and both enjoyed it. Definitely not for everyone.

As others have said, it is really dark and has a lot of messed up parts. In general we thought it was great acting and hopefully it helps someone get the mental health help they need.


Interesting from IMDB trivia:British news reports say the real "Martha" has come forward (was interviewed by Piers Morgan) saying that Richard Gadd was the actual stalker. She says she's been revealed by internet sleuths who she says have been threatening to kill her. She is not named, but says she will be filing a lawsuit against Gadd and Netflix, despite never doing anything when the play was produced and playing nearby.

It's about a stalker... and a whole lot more serious topics at risk of spoiling everything. It was very difficult to watch during certain very serious scenes, but it was also like watching Jerry Springer in that you can't turn away from the trash. Also just enough comedy in there (figuratively and literally) to keep the pace going.

It is not a horror movie at all.

Even with the graphic content/nature, I recommend it for those that can handle the topics revealed later in the series (again not going to spoil it).

This was one I had seen on the list of top shows for awhile and I finally got around to binging this yesterday during the day off, and this is definitely a very accurate take. Like others, I thought the acting was great, but man that was just disturbing and dark. You almost start to feel sorry for Donny when he goes back to the writer's place and he just looks utterly defeated. I fully expected more dark sh-t in that scene, but thankfully they didn't go there and he left on his own accord.
