Saw it last week for the first time in IMAX and it was unbelievable! I had only seen it on DVD and loved it then. It is exponentially better on the big screen - absolutely breathtaking. Seriously thinking of going again since they extended it for a few more days.

Yeah, I've seen it many times, but it's just different in IMAX.

As the kids say: it just hits different.

I just discovered that they added tracks to the Interstellar soundtrack in Apple Music and likely elsewhere as well. Mine downloaded years ago had 24 tracks. Album now has 30 tracks.

Just finished. Wow. IMAX makes this movie so great. My wife doesn't understand this movie like I do. She never knew her father. Being a father of a daughter, this connects me to the movie in a way she can never experience. It is Christopher Nolan's best movie by far.

Being a dad to a daughter, Interstellar connected me even moreso to her. One of my favorite moments as a parent is went she (in HS at the time) and I went to the theatre to watch it together.

On one hand, people who pull out their phones and take pictures of the screen in the middle of a movie/theater should be blasted into the sun.

On the other hand, though...

What amazes me about Interstellar is how many people I see say it's not good while there are so many, like myself, who think it is a masterpiece.

Always wonder what it is those like us are seeing in this movie that others do not see. I saw some guy once say it had no emotional depth to it. What?! Someone like this must have been sleeping through this movie to say that.

I'm thinking about going to see it Wednesday because i've never seen it in Imax.

Do yourself a favor and see it. I was blown away by how IMAX puts this movie on an even more grandiose scale than it was when I saw it in a regular theater a decade ago.

I'd say I have a hard time imaging how someone could say this movie carries no emotion, but then I recall what I wrote about my wife a few posts above. She finds the movie to be boring, not necessarily lacking in emotion, and too long. Given that she is a woman, she can never really know what it is to be a dad to a daughter. She doesn't even have the relationship herself, as her own "father" abandoned her mother right after she was born (she literally didn't meet the man until she was grown herself).

I explained this to her after I saw it on Sunday. It's not the visual effects, it's not the story, it's not the score, it's the emotional core of a dad's love for his kids with the focus on his daughter. When old Murph says to him "no parent should have to watch their child die" I was freaking cutting onions on Sunday night (and I've seen the movie countless times).

Interstellar is Nolan's best movie. I love his Batman trilogy, Inception, Dunkirk, but none of those hold a candle to Interstellar.

They should really expand this "limited engagement" throughout the rest of the month. Give the people what they want.

This.

I enjoyed it as a movie the first time I saw it because I was just newly married and had no kids. Then I saw it as a dad with a little girl, and it hit completely differently. I can't watch Coop leaving Murph without cutting onions now.

I loved Interstellar when I saw it during its original run. Amazing movie.

But I don't know if I could bring myself to watch it again now that I have two daughters, both around Murph's age. He has to leave her in order to save her. To save everyone. Her running after him. Him missing her whole life. Goodness. Just thinking about it is enough. Amazing movie.

Unfortunately Disney/Mufasa will have a stranglehold on IMAX theaters starting Thursday.
