All these tornadoes is just a marketing stunt. To be fair, this movie looks pretty bad.

Movies that are pretty much dog ass but they're destruction porn are a force all their own. There are really dudes in LA working really hard on writing scripts just because they know people will pay money to see decent CGI show what it would look like if a supervolcano took out most of the US.

What did you think of Twister?

If it's not your cup of tea, that's totally fine.

But what, exactly, about it looks "idiotic"? It's basically just a somewhat evolved version of the plot from the last movie, which doesn't seem that crazy or out there, the cast is fun/charming, the action/effects seem to be up to par, etc. This just looks like a good time at theater and nothing more, so I don't get where "idiotic" comes in.

Regardless, IMO, you're underestimating the love for/nostalgia factor of the last movie, the growing popularity/sex appeal of Powell, etc. Not to mention, in my experience, this has been the one trailer audiences have consistently cheering for the past few months. I've said it before and I'll say it again, but I think this thing is going to be massive.

As long as they roll credits with this….

From Deadline: It will open to $45-50m. So it really depends on how good it is to see where it wind up at the box. It's Powell's first leading role in a big movie, I assume, I cna't think of anything else but I'd say he was probably the 2nd most popular character in Maverick after Cruise.

Per tracking service Quorum, men under 35 are the leading demo who want to watch Twisters in a theater, followed by women over 35. The lowest of the quadrants is younger women, but tracking says the movie is three-quadrant strong.

Anyone But You, that just came out, made $88 million dollars, which is good for a rom com these days.

He is also in Hit Man, which is on Netflix but would have been a sleeper hit in theaters if it was released in like August/September IMHO. Its great. Check it out.

He is definitely a rising star and will bring people in. I think with good reviews and all the promo that the cast will be doing, this will open north of $100 million....but im super biased because i LOVE the first movie and can't wait for more tornado fun.

It just needs to not suck. Even its just ok, it will do good numbers

This gets me more hyped than any single trailer so far...

I know, but that face looks like he finally had a ton of plastic surgery. He may have in the past, but he never looked like it. Can't say the same anymore if that photo is telling the story.
