Some of y'all should expand your bad movie horizons and have fun with these things. Probably want to manage your expectations for the new Twister movie too
Why waste time on bad movies when there are so many options for good movies?

As someone else said, I can appreciate some poor acting action flicks. Stallone, Arnold, John Wick, Fast & Furious, etc.

I love the original Roadhouse, and even Swayze admitted it wasn't good acting.

This was just lazy and badly done all the way around. Cartoonish characters and terrible writing.

And Jake Gyllenhaal was terrible too. Monotone and couldn't pull off the one-liners and tough guy rhetoric.

Watched this tonight.

Meh.

Wasn't horrible but unlike the original it has little to remember it by. No great dialogue. No polar bear. The original was a movie of its time, a time long since passed that simply can't be recreated by using the same title and basic plot line. It misses the Sam Elliot character.

I will say I liked the Florida Keys setting, but that was just window dressing.

I enjoyed it.

Granted I love watching ridiculous movies while riding my bike on the trainer, and I watched this while on a 4 hour ride this morning.

It wasn't the worst movie ever made. I would have not been as forgiving if I paid money to see it in a theater, though.

Not sure if y'all stuck around for the credits, but they left the door wide open for a sequel.

This movie wasn't good but I still enjoyed it. The original is terrible too but it's gained cult status over the years....and I'm one of the ones who loves it.

Lots of y'all need to lighten up. You knew EXACTLY what this was gonna be before you watched it.

Movie is absolutely idiotic with little of the redeeming late 80's nostalgia of RoadHouse. Gyllenhaal plays Daulton as a weird, apologetic, ironic emo cooler, and the bad guys are even more contrived and flat than the original. Conor McGregor is actually fantastic in his role and is a much better actor than I thought he would be.
Spot on except McGregor was over-the-top. It's like he really believes he's the Incredible Hulk and demanded the movie make him tougher than Dalton.

So much bad

Swayze is a much better badass type.
No Wade Garrett
They put virtually no effort in the love interest story and she was no Lynch.
Zero hot chick nudity; great scenes if you're a gay male
Fight scenes were cartoonish and far worse than the 80s original.
Stabbing scene to open the movie was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
Every character, sans Croc-bait guy, was immortal.
Plot and story were nonexistent.

Everything about this movie was bad. It was like a trainwreck that I rubbernecked through.

It was an insult to the original, but I'm not surprised. I just didn't think it would be THAT bad.

Made it through maybe 20 minutes and moved on. Neither good nor bad enough to keep watching.

They had the potential to make it good but were super lazy. They could have put their own spin on it using the same storyline as the original. I too liked the Florida Key setting. I wanted to see a few things from the old in this such as:

1). Dalton organizing Billy and the other bouncers like Swayze did. He thought them to be nice until it was time to not be nice. They never really did that.

2). Dalton more involved in helping improve the place. He really just sat on his ass and watched the other bouncers do the work. He didn't have their back so to speak unless the problem came right at him. That's when he had to act.

3). The bar never got fixed up. The Double Deuce started to show signs of improvement and became a nicer place. This bar always seemed to be in shambles. Also, what's with the palm thatch roof in hurricane country? It seemed people liked going there, they were trying to go even when a car had driven through it!

4). The rest of the story worked ok I suppose, I just didn't think Dalton was worth the money she was paying him. I did miss him not having a Wade Garrett.

I agree with all of this. My biggest gripe was that they miscast the bar owner. She never did it for me but of course something about Hollywood going woke....

Btw, this movie was hot garbage.

I enjoyed it as a terrible action flick. Reminded me of those ****ty early 2000s movies, but even worse.

The stabbing thing at the end of the final fight was ****ing ridiculous though.

Plus, yeah, not enough hot chicks. And they were even in the perfect setting of the Florida keys. Really, an odd decision.

I don't really care for these types of movies, but my wife does, so we watched it this weekend. I thought it was perfectly fine for the first two-thirds, then ridiculously cheesy for the last third. Like someone stated earlier, the insane boat crashes and stabbings and walking away from insane violence is silly. Also, McGregor put on the worst acting performance that I have seen since The Rock in Scorpion King.

She was likable but forgettable. I liked the bar owner from the original who had that right on the border of being a sleazeball personality much better. He was more interesting and believable.

What made this movie cheese was the CGI. The truck scene with the bridge was incredibly bad. But McGregor's acting certainly put it further over the top..

I might have had a minor problem with this had this remake been frame-for-frame like the original, but moving the setting to the Keys, as well as changing the motivation of the bad guy (it wasn't just an "I run this town" mentality as in the original) made this character change irrelevant IMO.

I tried to watch it twice this past weekend and fell asleep both times. I don't fall asleep during movies. Love Jake G but that movie sucked for the first 40 mins and that's all I saw.

Just when you think it couldn't get worse than a Roadhouse remake,

Introducing 'The Union' with Mark Wallberg and Hallie Berry which is alleged to be the #1 movie on Netflix.

Be exhilarated when you find out that Wallberg plays a construction worker from Boston that's recruited by his crotch rocket riding high school ex-girlfriend to retrieve computer files that may damage the lives of powerful people.

Made it 20-min in before concluding that they trying to trick me with a script and story entirely written by AI.

Movie is a remake of Cool as Ice but with Hallie Berry playing Vanilla Ice.
