I saw it last night and it was really fantastic. The special effects were amazing and I was glad to see a movie without a happy resolution. All around I think it was a good movie.

I had never gotten around to it because I was confusing it with the Tom Everett Scott Paris one.

What do you think?
What you say, Paper Champion? I'm gonna beat you like a dog, a dog, you hear me!

I saw that movie as a teen when it came out. His friend walking around with his throat torn out freaked me out. I agree with what you said. I think this is a classic. Great show.

For kinda a dubious career and being known more as a comedy director , John Landis had some movies with some nice special effects.

I remember loving that movie when I saw it, and whenever I'd hear Werewolves of London it would remind me of that movie so much that about 5 years ago I was disappointed to find out that the song wasn't in the movie and really has no connection.

Still, I love that movie.

There was some dark humor in it. When the people he bit showed up, telling him to eat a bullet and such. I recall that subway scene, how big that werewolf was chasing that man. I felt bad for his victims and felt bad for him as he couldn't control that hunger. Landis did a great job with the victims, they weren't just killed and move on like in so many other horror movies.

The scene where his buddy is attacked and he gets bitten scared the sh*t out of me when I was younger.

Fine movie. Just re-watched it for the first time in years, and it has held up pretty well. As I recall, AAWIL was the second werewolf movie released in the year 1981, after The Howling. American Werewolf was the better of the two.

Tidbit - the nurse he was seeing would show up as the Council person that Black Widow impersonated in Captain America - the Winter Soldier.

Great movie and a classic. The effects are still awesome

I haven't seen it in years but I loved the Paris "sequel" when I was a kid. I watched it a ton... wonder if it holds up

Some of y'all won't know this , but anyone who was alive at the time would know this.

Michael Jackson got John Landis to direct Thriller because of this and they used the same FX for the video.

The first 15 minutes or so up until he wakes up in the hospital after the attack is one of THE BEST creepy scenes in any horror movie.

Great movie.

I thought he looked more like a cat than a wolf but yes, cool makeup.

I've told this story before on here, but the first 15 minutes was all I saw the first time I watched it.

My dad took my brother (who's 6 years older) and I to see this at the theatre when it came out. I was 7 at the time. When the werewolf attacked them on the moors in the opening scene, I screamed and hauled ass up the aisle. My dad finally caught me in the movie theatre parking lot. That was more than enough for me and my dad had to go back and get my brother when the movie was over.

I've since watched the whole thing. One of the best horror movies ever made.

I took my son to see the Jaden Smith Karate kid.

He didn't make it through the trailer for Avatar the last Airbender.

I mean, he was 5 or 6.

Absolute classic horror film. And the soundtrack is so cheekily perfect.

American Werewolf in London and Teen Wolf are my favorite werewolf movies, and I watch them both every October. I throw in American Werewolf in Paris about every 3rd year. I wouldn't say they're all great movies, but they're great WEREWOLF movies.

You should make it a point to watch her in "Logan's Run"

Not my first rodeo my friend. But I appreciate the assist. You're a good Ag.

His victims all hanging in a porno theater telling him how to kill himself is classic.

Every time his friend shows up he's a little more decayed than the previous scene.

The John Landis connection was featured in the "Making of Thriller" video, which MTV used to show pretty often back in the day.

It's odd to me that Michael Jackson had even seen American Werewolf in London. He didn't seem like the horror movie type.

Glad he did though. It made the Thriller video that much more legendary.

That's why I said everyone who was alive at that time knows this.

That "Making of Thriller" seemed like the only thing on for a year.

And we'd still all rush home after school to watch it like it was the GD Super Bowl.

Jenny Agutter an Australian actress was also in the SciFy classic Logan's Run featuring the Fort Worth Water Gardens fountain - and she was also in possession of the first naked boobs "I almost saw" in the 1971 movie Walkabout

Point of order: She's British, not Australian.
