His best movie! IMO he filled Jason Bateman's place until Jason made his comeback.

Just a really sad death and way to live. All that talent wasted. Dude could have been huge.

He was for a time after he got off the drugs [/somebody on this thread was bound to go there]

I think he was the first choice for Harry Connicks role in ID4 but dropped out late due to already being a pretty bad alcoholic. He got addicted to vicodin after getting in a jet ski accident filming fools rush in with Salma hayek

I always loved him in The Whole Nine Yards. Great comedic performance.

Did you guys know he publicly stated that he believes Ryan Reynolds stole his acting style as Chandler for Deadpool, etc.

That's such a weird stance to have. You're upset that a younger actor is modeling himself after you? To me that just shows that you had an impact. It's not like they were going to choose him to play that role.

I didn't realize that acting/being gay was an 'acting style'.

Did not know that Perry's stepfather is Keith Morrison of Dateline.

His death in Growing Pains was an excellent episode. He could hold his own with both drama and comedy. He'll be missed.

I was in kindergarten when that episode aired. I don't know why, but that's the first episode of a tv show that I really remember the plot of.

His memoir is incredible.

In it, he notes what an odd reality it is to know that when you die, people will be shocked but not surprised.

Celeb deaths don't usually get to me, but this one does. Gosh, this is sad.

I never watched more than 2 episodes of friends.

Growing Pains is what I knew him from.

Seems like he relapsed based on those non-sensical posts over the last month.

I have a weird memory.
His death really upset me on Growing Pains.

Of course I knew he was on Friends, but I watched 1-2 episodes and never watched it again.

How could people not know who was on that show even if you didn't watch it? It was a juggernaut

I know he's my lobster. You see that often.

Cmon man. You know Growing Pains. It's that show that made Leonardo DiCaprio famous.

Hank Azaria, who apparently knew Perry for a long time, at least implies his death was drug/alcohol related.

I turned on this thing the other day… anyone ever heard of this Raiders of the Lost Ark? Anywho I'll be darned if it wasn't Roger Crane from Love, American Style on screen beating up Nazis.

I have never hidden my dislike of Friends.
But I wasn't doing that on here.

To say I don't like popular things, is just star hoping.

I wasn't a fan of friends either, but liked all of his movies. The Whole Nine Yards, Three to Tango, Fools Rush In, even Serving Sara. I barely remember the Growing Pains episode.

When I looked, I was shocked that he hadn't been in a movie since 2009. All those years his talent wasn't fully utilized.

Here's the first sentence in his memoir about Serving Sara: "Serving Sara was a very bad movie, but it was made much worse by how bad I was in it."

He took it to get away from the Friends set after they were on to him drinking. Then had to pay $650K himself when the movie had to shut down so he could go to rehab.

They also had to re-shoot the scenes he shot before he went. He had been slurring his words.
But like all Perry's stuff, in the end it had his humor and heart, even if it wasn't his best.

Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it is good. Friends is at the top of the list of popular but not good.
