Season 2 is an entertaining watch but the characters and storyline seem so carbon copy to me. So many scenes have already been done and Sicario and End of Watch did them better. I mean, who here didn't already know that warehouse was going to full of trafficked people before they ever went in there?

Okay the end of Episode 5 completely jumped the shark for me. I'm not sure I can finish now.

I was today years old when I learned that the actor who plays the doctor husband on Lioness played Lee Dutton in the Yellowstone pilot.

Sheridan retreads numerous actors throughout all of his series. It's a fun game to play with every new episode release across his catalog.

*Newest entry: Jamie's dead girlfriend from Yellowstone just made an appearance in Lioness.

here's one i noticed last night - we're going thru a semi-reorg at work, doing all this McKinsey type stuff. anyone familiar with the Helix org structure? S2E5, textbook application in a way more interesting fashion than we're doing at the office.

James Jordan is in essentially every single Sheridan show/movie.

When I saw him in Land Man I had to look him up and see if they went to high school together or something.

Yep, he's definitely the main culprit. Literally. Everything.

Man, that sniper scene in the latest episode was badass. I feel like playing some Call of Duty now.

This show is awesome! Also…Taylor Sheridan has been 'roiding it up big time….he plays the 'old soldier' at the beginning of season 2. He was much more thin on his Yellowstone appearances

The other guy that was with Sheridan's sniper character . . . Was the guy that runs the company that killed Governor Dutton.

He had an interaction with Cruz at the end, like they new each other. Are we supposed to remember him from season 1? Was he there earlier in season 2 and I didn't notice?

I think he's the guy that ran the torture training on Cruz. She later choked him out at the bar after meeting her team.

Just started season 2. Love Sheridan's movies, but haven't really cared for any of his shows other than this one.

Holy S…. Just got through the first 2 episodes of the most recent Taylor Sheridan show on Paramount. It has an All star cast and is about the most intense and captivating show I have seen in a long time. I know the guy gets some hate on this board for all the shows he pumps out but this could be my favorite Sheridan concoction yet- at least after 2 episodes. Be prepared for some next level, hard to watch scenes. But the kind of scenes that when the credits roll, you can't wait for next weeks episode. And the previews show Morgan Freemen yet to come? Count me in. But as usual I will probably be the only person on TexAgs who enjoys it!
do you have a military background?

it is so freaking annoying to see shows about "special ops" that make basic mistakes that any Airman First Class would know about.

that's why Saving Private Ryan is one of the greatest war movies ever made- because it is nearly flawless in depicting actual reality

It's entertainment. Not everything has to be based on reality because sometimes reality is pretty boring.

Yes, although fair warning the writing is sloppy at times. The plot of season 2 is kind of all over the place. Still entertaining and fun to watch, and visually well made.

Agree. Season 1 was longer and had a clear objective throughout. Season 2 started out all over the map and was disjointed. The objectives and focus of the first five-six were just kind of trashed and then the real objective and plot identified and it wrapped up in like two episodes.

Don't y'all think that was intentional? Like interstellar? If the plot is clear to the audience all along you lose out on that feeling of the characters really not knowing what's happening until they figured it out. I thought it was great that the real plot took time to emerge and the cia was clueless until it wasn't.

Season 2 was a bit of a mess. I'm still not sure how we ended up in the Middle East.

What's the point of committing all that time to the cartel plot only to essentially throw it out?

The cartel was using human trafficking as a way to sneak in international/ME terrorist- ergo the suicide vest fella and the armed drones. We wanted to poke the bear in the ME to show that we can reach across their borders anytime as well and warn them to back the F off.
