I remember "my bad" becoming a thing after the movie Clueless. Which came out in '95.

And I remember, because my mother used to drive me insane saying that phrase ad nauseam after she watched the movie. (My mother is basically Carmy's mom from The Bear, hence my utter annoyance.)

"My bad" started gaining traction in the mid-late 80s.

pretty soon it will be the Matrix.....we won't know what's real or not

We will be relying on AI to decipher if something is AI or not.

I wonder if the end result will be a bunch of people basically having had enough and walking away from technology.

It's pretty funny that someone has put that much effort into finding the origin of the phrase. Nevertheless, I'll stand by my post. No one in fictitious Hawkins Indiana was saying it in 1987.

Those kids were definitely not saying it, but if you were into basketball it was around in the late 80s.

Yeah, I definitely don't think most kids in the '80s were following Manute Bol that closely. I knew who he was, being a huge Spurs fan (and NBA in general) growing up, but no way was I in tune with him enough to attribute "my bad" to him.

Speak for yourelf. I was following the rivalry betwen him and Mark Eaton very closely at the time at the age of 8 while watching Jon Koncak look at both with jealosy despite bagging one million a year.

I said "most kids". You were obviously a weirdo.

Finn Wolfhard hosts SNL tonight, you'd have to think there will be multiple cameos or some Conformity Gate stuff.

Or maybe even a return by Bill Hader since he and Finn played young/old Richie Tozier in "It"

And obviously a terrible speller at that.

What the **** was up with that ending??? ****ing bull****! I refuse to accept that. I don't care how cringe it is, I want the riding off in the sunset type of ending where everything works out. Life is tragic but we don't have to be reminded of it all the time. What a waste.

It's like the duffer bros used Deepseek or Alibaba AI to write the ending. It was the McDonald of endings 100% facts.

Are you sure you watched the right show? Because other than 11, that's exactly what the ending was

In the Making Of Season 5, the Duffer Brothers explain that the others could never grow up or move forward with life if Eleven were still with them.

She kinda represents magic of children's youth and that magic disappears as kids become adults.

That and the government would never leave them alone if Eleven were alive either.

Sadie Sink was on tonight show and told Jimmy that she thinks Eleven is dead and Mike was a great storyteller so everyone has closure thinking she might be off somewhere...

Eleven has no place in our world. That was proven time and again.

I meant my comment in jest. Just laughing because she was the biggest character that everyone in the show had emotional connections to and you just blew by it and said everyone but 11 had a perfect ending.

Hop lost another daughter, Mike lost the love of his life, will lost a scissoring partner

Wait, I thought Will came out as a gay man. He came out as a lesbian? How progressive of him for the 1980s.
