That said, I forgot about Common ordering the raid on the hospital at the end, so my theory probably just went out the window.

I remember the judge saying 'they' so that makes me think it's more than just common. I think there is another group outside the silo that he is working with to control that community but not sure what the purpose would be.

Hopefully it's not another Jim Carey movie where he is on a reality show

I think the Janitors are another group separate from the judicial and the mayoral office. Common gave that speech to his almost-shadow about being asked to enter the room and how it was life-changing and you could never go back. Maybe they're like a deep state group and they put their puppets into office to pull the levers they want pulled. That's why the judge can't do certain things and is apparently trapped in her role now. IT probably knows they exist but I'm not sure out that.

Still really enjoying this show. I wish I had started after the season or near the end. Many episodes are slow then the last 5 minutes leave you frustrated to wait another week. I completely understand the reasoning for ending on the edge of your seat. A bender would be nice though!

We finally made it past the first 30 minutes of firefly this week so we've been using it as a crutch to watch multiple episodes a night, but that obviously won't last more than a few more days.

I'm going to say it. If they had lived in that silo for that long, with no new people, everyone would look like Rashida Jones. No very dark skinned, no very white skinned. Everyone a light brown.

I had the same complaint about The Wheel of Time.

Common has the emotional range of your average goldfish.... frustrating to watch.

Why not common working for Tim Robbins?

Also think it's interesting that Commons crew appears to have some fairly nice equipment and everyone else is basic.

My guess is they have a way out and we will see end of season leading into next what is going on outside.

I'm enjoying the show but I definitely think it's pretty uneven. The show does just enough to keep me on the hook so I'll keep watching.

If they renew for a 3rd or 4th season I may start to believe that we will actually get some answers. I like the show, but they're gonna have to pick up the pace a bit.

I'm in the same boat, I'll keep watching but not sure what to think of it at this point. Hopefully the first season finishes strong.

This feels like one of those shows that benefits from being able to binge the whole season rather than waiting week to week for new episodes. I like it and I'm intrigued, it's just moving very slow right now

Don't want to spoil it so early into the weekend but I thought this was a good episode. Surprised by the turn of events

Feels like the story picked up a little speed this week. The big questions on this show are so intriguing.

I think we are going to start a binge month of Apple this weekend. I'll be ticked off if they mess up this series as the source material is griping.

Another fun episode. Guessing this is trending towards a revolution led by our favorite sheriff.

Fantastic, incredibly tense episode. Can't believe it's already the season finale next week.

It's getting real!

- The video of it being nice outside is the same thing Holston saw, so is that just another fake video they play through their suit visor? Is it actually nice outside or not?
- The 18 - a 1 followed by an 8 got a good laugh from me
- Is Sims wife/Sims involved in something bigger
- The 18 was on Bernard's key chain thing and the hard drive
- I couldn't tell what page Billings tore out

Really enjoying the show and sad next week is the finale. I'm going to try and pick up the books after the season ends

Great episode! This show is paying off for those who stuck with it. Glad there will be a season 2.

"Wool" arrived earlier this week but I'm debating if I really want to read it now or wait for the show to not spoil anything.

If outside is nice in reality, then the people keeping it secret are also condemning themselves to a cramped life in the silo as well. Why would they do that? Can't wait to find out the truth about outside.

Season 1 cliffhanger: Jules opens that door and we get a brief hint of what's beyond before cutting to credits. Or is that too "on the nose"?

I almost feel like that's a season two finale cliffhanger? I just can't see them already venturing outside to *start* season two. Seems like the filmmakers would want to milk that secret as long as they can and spend at least one more season inside/confined to the silo, but who knows. The source material may of course say otherwise...

The door George talks about in the video is at the bottom of the silo, waaaaaaaaaaaay underground.

I'm thinking that's exactly how the season will end. Or it ends just before she opens it, and season 2 starts with the door.

When he made that comment, my thought was that the water is deceptively shallow. he said something along the line of "turns out the water isnt the issue i thought it was" or something to that nature.

My guess is she climbs down and takes a leap of faith and lands on her feet. Nice little reference to the last crusade if you will.

The bolded part seems like the key mystery in the show.

I don't think it's going to be quite so simple as things are great outside and the Silo management is simply lying to them to maintain their power.

When they powered down the silo that big screen in the cafeteria blipped nice outside for a split second.

Also, when the sheriff was outside, he took his helmet off, and it still showed it was green. I took that to mean that it really was green outside. However, it still seemed pretty odd, from the birds flying looking identical to how they appeared when the wife had watched the video to the coloring of the grass. The color could be attributed to the fact that it is something the characters have never seen before, and the portrayal aims to capture that unfamiliarity. Alternatively, there might be more to it.

For some reason, it cracks me up the way they all refer to it as 'going out to clean,' when in reality, or at least what they think, they are going out to meet certain death.
Rocagnante

Seems to point to the outside really being green, but there's something else going on out there TBD. Maybe they only have that one good video that they use that doesn't show the full story?

And no character ever said WTF? I don't get that. People clearly saw the blip.

There were some confused looks, from what I remember. But I don't think anyone in the silo besides those who have accessed the HD and maybe (probably?) those in power have any idea that it could potentially be fake. If you're an average citizen in the silo, and the screen quickly flashes to color before going dark, you'd probably think it was a weird circumstance and not think about it further.

I agree with this. I don't think it really made anyone think about it.
