I will open it up properly with an iconic guitarist! Who are some of your favorite guitarists?

But don't be afraid to share some artists that may be a little more unheard of so we can appreciate the art.

Sweet covers of songs on random instruments are very welcome as well.

Since you went acoustic with Yngwie I'll go acoustic with one of my favorites Uli Jon Roth. He was an early member of the Scorpions before going out on his own. Such an incredible musician.

Here's some electric Uli for you too.

This guy really has never got his due. I wish there were more high quality live videos of his stuff out there.

I know you said please share more unknown guitarists but we can't have a shredder thread without the king.

This Jason Richardson solo is what I'm trying to learn.

Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover is also on the to-do list:

Were you in my bourbon lounge last night?

I was jamming Polyphia all night and ended the night with Cliffs of Dover lol

Is that a 7-string? I feel like the shredders are moving towards those now. I know they have been around for ages but I never considered buying one.

**** yeah! I love early Scorpions. So underrated. In Trance is another great song from the Uli era. Got to meet him after a club show back in 2015. Super nice guy.

This may be one of my favorite live performances ever. The whole El Mocambo show is insane. I would kill to have been in that audience.

It's Ty.

Love the Beatles reference at the end. This was on Dennis Miller's show. The crowd noise is canned. No audience because this was during the LA riots in 1992, so they kept everyone away from there.

People always say that Robin Trower is the white Jimi Hendrix, but I think Frank Marino is even more Hendrixer. This is the type of song Hendrix would've put out if he lived in the 70's.

Wasn't at that lounge, haha. Yes, that's a 7-string Ernie Ball MusicMan. 7-strings seem popular w/ Djent style players too for more bass (Tosin Abasi).

Love it. My introduction to FMMR- I saw them in Midland late 70s/early 80s thereabouts, opening for someone. I don't remember who the headliner was because I was totally blown away by Frank Marino.

I found a rabbit hole for y'all to go down this evening. To play that fast and hear every note perfectly is amazing.

I don't generally enjoy "shredding". I would have to go more towards bluesy styles and say Since I've Been Loving You from MSG. The soloing is great, but the best part is how this basically a duet between Plant and Page.

Guthrie is amazing. His solo on "Happy Returns" by Steven Wilson blows me away every time I hear it.

I learned this past week how Terry Kath died. I hope it was just an urban myth.

Edit: It's not an urban myth
