Curious how much the price will go up. Probably a buck cheaper than paying for both separately to start. And then you will take the requisite 15% price increase in year 2.

I get Paramount for free through Walmart plus which I get free through Amex. Wonder what this will do for that

Id guess same thing that is happening to hulu. Short time of having the option of getting it separately, then forcing you to have an hbo account just to use paramount+ (mostly kidding, but that would be like what Disney did to hulu) to start the process of pushing people out, then forcing migration to the merged platform, leaving only the consolidated option for everyone to either join or die.

Soon there will be very few options to get piece meal. Will be a return to all or nothing soon.

And I have a similar situation with a free paramount+ account through the internet provider, as well as the Black Friday hbo rate of $2.99 a month. Ill be deleting both once I catch up on stuff I still need to watch, and not signing up for the new merged version assuming that the price will be bumped up from the current rates.

Pretty close to leaving Fubo for YoutubeTV. I have split Fubo with 2 other family members for a few years and it had been great but now we're getting stream limits reached when 2 people are watching it. For YoutubeTV + needing to add Space City Network stream it's about the same price as we pay now.

Anyone with YoutubeTV have any complaints? Positives?

I've used both YTTV and Hulu Live and YTTV is substantially better. I think it's considered by most to be the best TV streaming platform. Also, they just released new packages so you can tailor what you pay for a bit better.

Hulu TV is missing a lot of little things that YTTV does that made using it a PITA. I have a list on here somewhere of these missing or poor features.

Can't speak to DTV's streaming option.

I have heard YTTV is the best interface out there which is nice to hear. I just need to make sure multiple houses can stream it, which I believe is the case, and I'll probably make the switch.

We have had YTTV for years.

My sons are able to watch from each of their current locations on my account.

in fact, when we attend Aggie football games, my 25 year old fires up YTTV multi view on his phone so he can watch other games during timeouts.

Unlimited dvr is the star of yttv

Do all the family members live near each other? When I had YTTV and I would travel, I'd get a message asking if I was traveling and I'd have to confirm before it would let me use it and it would only let me do that for like two weeks or something. I assume multiple families using the same account in different areas will run into the same problem.

YTTV is the best interface, but it's expensive. It has basically become cable where they keep adding channels you don't want and raising the price. We ended up cancelling and signing up for the streaming services from all the major networks (plus ESPN). It ended up cheaper, but it's not really convenient having to switch between apps all the time.

I really wish all the streaming services would get together and create a standard where you sign up for their service, but the TV (or streaming device) gives a seamless interface so you can browse all the shows you have available to you without having to switch between apps.

For YTTV, Hulu with Live Sports, and all the rest of the premium Multichannel Video Programming Distributors, they have now been allowed to do skinny bundles so that you can now purchase a sports collection of channels, or non-sports. In the past, ESPN/Disney might require a distributor to not only by ESPN and ESPN2, but also ESPN News, Disney, Disney Jr., Freeform, or whatever. There is some more flexibility there now.


It was those providers, especially ESPN/Disney that were really driving prices up.
Also, sometimes channels are supported only via advertisement, and not from subscription fees. I don't know if YTTV has any of those, but I know that Sling and DirecTV did. All those "free" type channels are supported by ads and aren't part of subscription fees.

And I'd be interested in knowing how many people who have used ESPN's stand alone app will go back to YTTV or other packaged providers. I'm guessing it's pretty low. I'm more likely to not have ESPN or just do Sling's one day or weekend pass.
