Someone posted this in the Yellowstone thread. The production of everything in the Sheridan-verse has been spread pretty thin. A break at some point was probably expected.

I realize that. So it's a sub thing to boost first qtr numbers for paramount. Then cbs gets 2nd qtr boost with mm and the masters. I have no idea about their 3rd qtr but it does encroach football, college and nfl. And that's all they've got in the 4th qtr.
Really liking this show. Took me a minute to get used to Harrison Ford as a cowboy, but I'm over it. The Spencer storyline is great. Could do without the Catholic/Indian stuff, but I'm enjoying the series.Charpie said:

I've been in the Yellowstone thread for a while and watch most of Sheridan's stuff. The Native American assimilation is hard to watch but I was hoping they'd get back to the girl trying to escape. Overall, I've loved 1923 more so than 1883. Helen Mirren remains an incredible actress. Unlike 1883, there isn't really a character that I don't like. At least so far.

Alright I'm here. Took me awhile to find this place (Reddit sucks for anything about this show) so I'm happy I found y'all.
3 things:
1. This is probably one of my all time favorites out of anything Yellowstone. I loved 1883 but this is that much better.
2. Spencer Dutton's storyline is great. And I was so happy how Alex was the one who jumped the guns. Just a very pure relationship between them
3. February 5th is so far away.
Great show though. Do you think Levi's or wranglers were more popular pants back then?

Sheridan's Mayor of Kingstown S2 starts Jan 15, so no coincidence they've pushed 1923 and Yellowstone out.
What is the purpose of the boarding school storyline? Is she going to run away TO the Yellowstone?

I'm thinking she's related to the old Chief from 1883 and Monica present day. How that translates to 1923 I have no idea.

She is a Rainwater ... related to the chairman of the confederated tribes in Yellowstone.

As EclipseAg mentioned, she's part of Thomas Rainwaters family tree. Pretty much his own origin story within 1923.
Some of the dialogue gets over the top sappy but I'm fine with the show for now. Honestly I didn't finish 1883 after the tornado episode. Not necessarily for any reason, except for a young baby at home

I had to go look it up, but that was Jack's dad that was shot in the eye by the Tommy gun. Maybe I'm forgetting a scene, but Jack doesn't seem too torn up about losing his dad.
I don't even remember them saying directly that he was a Dutton. I found out in our discussions here. The show is great, but they really didn't establish that character very well.
So we gonna keep ignoring the fact that Jack's mom is Wendy Peffercorn?

Historians say the mortality rate on the Oregon Trail was 5~10%, although obviously some had it worse than others.
Which makes sense. If damn near everyone died like the fictional group in 1883 nobody would be making the journey.
