Would almost say Tombstone is the perfect western but that romance stuff in the middle really drags it down for a bit.

The Godfather > The Godfather Part 2

I mean, I would consider every movie in my top 10 to be a perfect movie... you know... seeing as I have them in my top 10 of all time.

The Shawshank Redemption is about as perfect of a movie as I can think of.

The Fellowship of the Ring is a perfect epic.

Perfect romantic comedy would be When Harry Met Sally.

Perfect adventure would be Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Back to the Future is also one I would consider perfect.

The Princess Bride? What is not perfect about that movie?

Almost Famous, Shawshank, and Zodiac. Not a single frame, cue, or performance I'd change in either. No questions left at the end. Nothing.

IDK... my top 10 are:

Shawshank Redemption
The Lord of the Rings
The Godfather
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Back to the Future
When Harry Met Sally
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Princess Bride
Almost Famous

Those are the ones I love absolutely every frame of and personally think they are perfect.

The perfect movie doesn't have to be your favorite movie. Jaws is my #1, but it's got a mechanical shark that looks fake as Hell and an ending that isn't possible. As much as I love it, I can't call it perfect.

I disagree. Unless you quantify what "perfect movie" requires, it is completely subjective. Just because something is old, and therefore had to make due with props or graphics of the time, doesn't make the movie not perfect. My favorite movies have everything I believe a movie should have, which is why they are my favorites. To me, that makes them perfect.

A perfect movie that always gets overlooked on these threads is The Sting.

Btw, I recently rewatched Shawshank, for the first time in 4K HDR, and it was damn near a religious experience. Not only is it the definitive, '90s, "they don't make 'em like they used to" movie, but there was something about the look of it that was just so rich and stunning, more so than almost any other modern day movie. Watch it on the biggest screen you can find. The last act was euphoric.

Zodiac might be one of the more slept on great movies.

Personally, I think it's Fincher's best. A legit crime epic.

Tony Stark and Bruce Banner on fire throughout, just one year before the birth of the MCU.

A movie that feels like it took decades to research, obsessive in every way, in the best way.

And the perfect ending, with the "Hurdy Gurdy Man" callback.

I love it so, so much.

I love The Social Network too. Probably my second favorite Fincher. But there's just something about Zodiac that does it for me slightly more.

Great flick. Seen it countless times, but don't even try to tell me you don't get scenes in it confused with Legends of the Fall.

Jaws is the perfect movie. Disallowing it because it aas limited by the technology at the time is just dumb.

Jaws is the original popcorn blockbuster that every one after it tries to emulate. Not a single frame or line in it that can be better.

Lots of great ones listed. Others that I think were perfect were The Natural, Field of Dreams, Hoosiers, Braveheart, The Cowboys, and Dazed and Confused. Thought these were all perfect for their genre

I have never seen zodiac. I will have to watch it now. I can't remember why I didn't see it originally.
