Wow. I couldn't stop laughing but my wife made me turn it off because it made her uncomfortable. Will finish later.

I finished the episode and I loved it. My wife didnt understand it. she was made very uncomfortable and even said "it was one of the worst things I have ever made her watch on TV, ever". for the record, she watches all kind of "trash TV" as she calls it, all of the Real Housewives of Wherever, and 600-1000lb life kind of stuff.

She is a person who likes to have plans and know about them before hand and also likes to kind of think about things before hand, and then go do them. So this made her feel uncomfortable, like this blind man was taking this other blind man into a minefield on purpose to see what happens.

I am always someone that is kind of plays it by ear and also tends to overthink previous interactions with other people, even if they went well, for no reason, so for me it was extremely hilarious to see that they tried to control for every variable, when, in the end, it always just kind of happens how it happens. No amount of preparation really helps, in the end, because when it actually comes down to it, there is no amount of things that can prepare you for uncomfortable and awkward situations between real people. I thought it was brilliant.

10 minutes. That's all I could take before I had to stop it and watch something else. Utterly devoid of entertainment value to me.

We're you'll high when you watched this or something? I mean, I can try that if you'll think it'll help make it funny.

Just finished Ep. 1
Nathan For You was great and this is right there with it. Before I can say it's better, though, I need to see where it goes for a couple of more episodes.
The best part of NFY was how different each scenario was. There weren't any repeat bits, even if he did use some clients more than once (Mall Santa/ Goat in the water! and the PI that had posed for Playgirl.)
In The Rehearsal, I loved the laptop harness and the flowchart software, particularly when they showed it after the 11th or 12th run-through. But if the premise stays the same- practicing uncomfortable confessions- it might devolve into a showcase of how big a budget and how extensive the recreation of the confessional they can do.
But I'm in for at least 2 more.

Interesting concept that definitely reeled me in at first, but by the latter half, it felt a bit repetitive. Only so much reiteration of awkward guy trying to have different versions of an awkward conversation before it got a little tired. I do wonder how it will hold up over a season.

At the end, did the guy bring his friend back into the fake apartment? So did he confess that it was all scripted and practiced? I might have just missed it but seems like that would have been an interesting conversation.
You're gonna need to be more specific here

Watched it last night. Fan of Nathan For You but didn't really know what to make of this. Will give it another chance tho. Kept thinking about how close I came to being murdered if I had made the girlfriend watch too. Just glad I took the " I'll just preview this one first before suggesting a possible new show for us"

My wife can't accept that she likes Nathan Fielder. When I was watching Nathan For You, she would complain and say how dumb it was. She would start the episode on her phone trying to ignore it, and would be watching it and laughing by the end. Then she went would say how stupid it was. Every episode, and it was the same with The Rehearsal.
Had the exact same experience with my wife watching Nathan for you

I made my girlfriend watch The Rehearsal with me, which was a real gamble since I had no idea what it was about. She's a creative director and has done some writing and producing, and she was absolutely obsessed. I captured the moment by immediately making her watch the Dumb Starbucks episode of Nathan for You, and now she is working her way through the entire series on her own.

Episode two wasn't nearly as elaborate, but holy sh*t, these subjects were somehow even better. What a couple of absolute looney tunes. The entire visit to that guy's apartment had me rolling.

As a Christian, I'm always prepared to cringe when Christians are featured on a show, but boy these two took the embarrassment to another level. Wowza

What Fielder did so well, IMO, was stay completely neutral on the religion aspect. It never felt like he was mocking their beliefs. He simply let them talk and let their actions speak for themselves.

Considering I can only imagine the people regularly using Craigslist in 2022, this makes sense.

This show might be called "Playing to the hang-ups of people on the spectrum". I don't know if I can do ep 3. Something just feels wrong because these people clearly have issues

The stuff on the way to that guy's apartment and then with the roommate was so hilarious and uncomfortable, I could barely take it. And I lost it when Nathan was asking if he should drive and about the license plate

I think all of our wives are just morons with no senses of humor, bc my wife was like "what the hell are you watching" with that naggy judgy voice they all have.

But I laughed out loud several times. I don't know if it's as groundbreaking and earth shattering as some here and on social media have made it out to be, but it's really entertaining. The end of part 1 I had to watch twice.

And the dude from ep 2. What a looney toon. Made the chick seem normal AF.

Tonight's episode was even more meta than usual! Do you think that guy figured out the buried gold inheritance was fake and that's why he didn't show up?

All I know is that was such a brilliant ploy/twist with the fake grandpa. As for why the guy didn't show up, my guess is he was likely embarrassed for breaking down like that and by then had just had enough. Or yeah, he could have suspected something too for sure. Either way, he was the rare subject who made for some hilarious moments but also seemed like a pretty good person. It never really felt like he was being made fun of either. That said, the Raising Cane's set had me rolling.

It's like he took the 'Finding Frances' episode and turned it into a whole series
