Yeah i have a tiny bladder and there is nothing more awkward than walking in front of people. I always sit on the end.

Do you have the RunPee app? It tells you when you should take pee breaks, if you need one, and you can read what's happening during the break.

I need it because I finish the large drink while during previews, get a refill before the start of the movie, and then have to make about 3 trips to the bathroom.

My wife and I have specific seats we sit in at the XD screen at Cinemark. If they are not available, we don't go to the movie, period.

This is kind of awesome.

I won't go to a showing if i can't sit in the middle 25% of a row and rear 25% of the theater.

I just go to the IPIC theater where pretty much every seat is an aisle seat and the chairs are comfortable and big enough I'm not worried who's next to me....

Aisle. Even with the throne recliners, my spouse feels less claustrophobic at the end of a row.

This is me.

All of the aisle sitters in this thread are clearly communists and need to be deported.

F'ing scum.

BUT, if they take the aisle, we are left with the good seats!

Exactly. Us aisle-sitters open up the middle for everyone else. So if we're deported, the jokes on YouBet.

2/3 up and center seats for me and my wife -- I want the full perfect surround sound in my ears

Is this where we come and complain about the people that look at their phones with the flashlight on the entire movie?

Center seat on the toe that is twice as far back as the screen is high.

Back in the 90s, my brother and I had gone to see Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Fairly late in the movie, we became aware that the floor below our feet was full of a mystery liquid. First we figured someone had spilled a drink, but as other people became aware, it was revealed that there was a flash flood going on outside and the water was seeping in through the fire door and slowly flooding the theater. They stopped the movie right as Malcolm, Sarah, Vince Vaugh, and the world's greatest gymnast / Raptor kicker are being evacuated from the island, and made us go home, which only took 2 hours to get 6 miles in said flood.

It wasn't until I watched the movie on VHS more than a year later that I became aware of the scene where the T-Rex gets loose in San Diego.

I usually go by myself and I purchase two end seats about 2/3 of the way up so I can sit on the end and not have to sit next to anybody.

But we do get rid of communists so it's a win-win.

I also prefer the end. The theater I go to has assigned seats but the numbers aren't illuminated so if you happen to try and time it so you can watch the trailers but miss the commercials it can be difficult AF to figure out where the hell your seat is if it's in one of the rooms with the giant screens. Also, no one accidentally sits in the end seat, you know whether or not it's yours. Zero chance for cup holder confusion in the aisle seat. There's way too much potential chaos by booking a middle seat. If there's no aisle seat available then maybe I catch the next showtime. I'll take the aisle seat in the theater and the airplane. Middle seats in the theater are like window seats on an airplane, you think it's better because of the view, but you're a prisoner of that view you hold so dear.

I relish getting drunk at Pluckers and then stumbling over to the Cinemark to sit dead center and get up to pee a few times as the beers kick in and trip over you weird aisle people and spill popcorn and more beer on you

Do none of you Alamo? It's the greatest movie-going experience - we will not see a movie anywhere else. Reclining seats? Yep. Food and drinks brought to your seat? Check. Draught beer or margarita for your enjoyment? Of course. Talking or texting gets you thrown out? Absolutely. Fantastic visual and sound systems? Done. Entertaining pre-preview clips? Got 'em.
Having recently been to M+E and Evo theaters, we will only be seeing flicks at the Alamo for the next decade.

Poors not being able to buyout a private screening.

For some reason since that day, I get this weird feeling of anxiety anytime I'm in a packed theater. It started on that damn night - never struggled with this in the past. I've found it is a slightly better experience if I sit near the aisle now. We sat middle during Maverick, and it took a little bit of work for me to tamp down that feeling in my chest that a panic attack was coming, and I'd be stuck in my seat. I don't understand what the hell it is... maybe I need to see a shrink at this point.
I get that same feeling if I don't get the aisle seat on a plane.

Ok now I'm curious if the weird aisle sitters are just more vocal.

Voting aisle. I just want you to know that my preference for watching is dead center and slight toward the top. However, I'm not a masochist, so my anxiety forces me to the aisle.

Within this discussion, can we discuss front row? Why do theaters even put seats that close? Maybe more shocking in the era of seat choice, who still buys these tickets from time to time?

I'm not OCD so I can sit center all the way to aisle and be find.

I won't sit too close though.

Top row and favor the right side. A stroke took my peripheral vision in my right eye awhile back, so I can lose anything that's occurring on the far right end of the screen if I'm too far to the left from dead center. Not a deal breaker, but its a preference.

i care more about being in the back row or maybe the next-to-back row than i do being in the center or the aisle.

if the theater is wide open, i'll choose the back row, middle.

Back/last row and matinee these days. I hate hearing anyone talking behind or above me. I'm old and grumpy.
this was my plan when i went to top gun (first movie theatre experience in 7 years). top row was already taken by a 50 something year old woman with her husband. Guess what she did the whole time?
