Last row, as close to the middle of the theater as possible. Since my wife and I don't need to see a movie the first day it comes out, and we're retired, we can catch a movie during the matinee and get reserved seats in the balcony of the Regal Cinema. When we went to Maverick a couple of weeks back, there may have been six other people in the theater, only two of which were in the balcony. As to the need to relieve ourselves, the process is get bottles of water (and maybe snacks), go to the head and then sit down around the time the ads are over and the trailers start. Typically, if I take my time drinking the water, I can wait until the movie is over to go back to the head.

And yes, I'm a grumpy old man also. I don't want to be around a bunch of strangers, I can't stand people that use their phones or talk during the movie.
