I don't mind Pratt, and really like Ben.

But the casting of Katie is the one that really bothers me. She's nothing like the character described in the book, and she's a bad actress. If she was cast different, I think it would help a lot.

The more I've watched....it's an ok show. Not terrible, not great. Worth a watch.

I liked it a lot, though it gets more and more far-fetched the further along it goes. Might as well give Pratt a cape and write an S on his chest.

Agreed. Could get past the difference from the book description, but they totally changed most of her storyline and motivation.

Watched the first 3 last night. I'll finish them, but I'm a little disappointed.

Is Reece the character in the other books?

Yes. He's the main character in all of them.

Just posted...I"m so in on this!

I'm on Season 1, episode 8 right now. Chris Pratt and the series itself is fantastic.

I watched the entire series. It's fine and I would have probably enjoyed it had I never read the book.

Haven't read the books but probably will. I really enjoyed the series.

Could see where the ending was going, but still sucked to see.

Loved the books and the series was enjoyable. I'd recommend.

Came here to post this. So stoked for this!
this was literally one of the most horrifying, bleak and dark shows I have ever seen.

Finished the 3rd episode. The CEO character is terribly lazy writing and worse acting. That aside, I am enjoying it well enough

I'm a big fan of the books. I enjoyed the show but it diverged enough from the books to leave me wondering why certain decisions were made. It's been a while since I read the Terminal List so I could be off with my critique.

Katie was miscast. If they film multiple seasons of the show this will affect Reese's father's backstory. I thought the actress in the role did fine, but a bombshell blonde with eastern European heritage shouldn't have been difficult to cast.

I was looking forward to the Miami and Florida Keys scenes. I wanted to see Riley have to flirt her way out of a traffic stop.

Ben was excellent in the show. Steve Horn was a caricature.

I don't remember an FBI agent playing nearly as large of a role in the book. He was good in the show.

Episode 4 was my favorite.

All things considered, I enjoyed the show and liked Pratt as Reese. If they continue to follow the books I'll keep watching, but I definitely think book one was going to be the easiest to put on screen, and it's another case of book better than movie. I had higher expectations because they had 8 episodes to work with.

Steve Horn was certainly a caricature, but I've met people like him - short of the crazy decisions he made.

I too really enjoyed the books and agree that Katie was miscast. The changes they made were disappointing. Tedesco's character was changed. Jack Carr certainly raved about it, overall I give a B. Hope they continue on with the second book: True Believer.

Any chance they can cast Hemsworth to play Raife?

I just watched episode 1.

I liked it. Definitely plenty of "oh come on...." moments. The chase scene in the mountains was probably one of the worst.

But overall, still enjoyable due to the story line and emotional complexity.

Speaking of emotions.....I didn't like Pratt in this role. As a Seal, he would have more of a flat affect. I have never met a special forces guy who is super expressive with his face. There were times when Pratt nailed it and seemed to have zero emotion, but there were other times when he would flash a goofy facial expression. That works for characters like Starlord....but not a hardened combat veteran.

Yeah, this scenario was really tough for suspension of disbelief. He is surrounded by almost 20 people including other Navy Seals. He blows up the mountain and rides an avalanche down. Then digs himself out. Then digs the chick out and CPR's her.
In all this time the 20 people are not running down the mountain to catch up.
Then he "disappears" after camera shots of a very small river. I assume he jumped into the river and "rode" it to safety.

So this big task force could get a helicopter or drone out to fly down the river to find him. He is on foot or maybe on river.
10 minutes a mile probably fastest he could move.
Just dumb

You probably shouldn't watch any James Bond or Mission Impossible movies.

I agree. That scenario wasn't handled well on screen.

It was fine. Entertaining action sequences, but all the characters seemed pretty generic and the plot lines were something I've seen in at least a half dozen other shows/movies in the last five years.

You probably shouldn't watch any James Bond or Mission Impossible movies.
I know to expect the impossible and stupid in those.

You should probably learn the difference between genres.

Pretty mediocre show, saw the ending coming from a mile away. Maybe it was the pacing or story itself but it felt off. Rather Amazon get back to Jack Ryan

Randomly stumbled on this show, never heard of the books. I thought it was pretty good, maybe A-/B+. I do agree about the Horn character, he was like the bad guy in a Karate Kid movie. Would watch Season 2 if there ever is one.

Would be nice if you could actually see what the hell's happening.

Film is a medium that is experienced completely by sight. So wouldn't it make sense to film it in enough light that you can actually see it?

I wish Hollywood would get away from this fascination with dark filming.
wow I thought I was going crazy when I noticed the exact same thing.

I had to go to my TV settings and change from dynamic view to regular view to be able to see anything.

annoying!!

Finished itast night.

Enjoyable enough

It was nice to see characters that are supposed to be comfortable/proficient with firearms played by actors who are comfortable/proficient with firearms.
