The author Jack Carr is on one of the latest Rogan podcasts if you're interested.
I've thought about reading the books for a while... what do they compare to?

Jack Slater's Jason Trapp series
Just finished listening to In the Blood. Very good, Carr mentions on Danger Close podcast that he is working on Book 6.K Bo said:

Just watched episodes 1 and 2. Came into this with no prior knowledge of the story or anything, so I didn't really know what to expect…and wow. What a start. Definitely needed to roll right into episode 2, because even though I probably needed to go to sleep, I was not going to sleep after episode 1. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Why was this released so close to Jack Reacher or at all?
I think it's good and Chris Pratt is great but timing is odd.
He's great for the Parks and Rec/funny guy type role. Even the goofy/buff action hero (Star Lord). But he just doesn't quite cut it for super serious, complex action hero roles. I like the guy and he is fine in most stuff, but just isn't the right casting for many of these movies. It also doesn't help that many of these movies/series he does don't have great writing/plots (looking at you Tomorrow War)Btron said:
Couldn't get into this at all. I think I'm over Chris Pratt. The writing and dialogue is so bad. I felt like the first episode was everyone running around calling each other "brother" way too much.
