How long do you want to ignore this user?
just watched episode 3...

Layla carried the episode. The dynamic between her and Steven is the most interesting. Something may develop between them.

the plot is growing more complex with the gods imprisoning Khonshu.

looking forward to episode 4

Well, that ending just tripped me out.

Sweet episode… ending was pretty wild…. I was getting The Mummy vibes, can't wait to see what happens next!

Ha, yeah, that was a trip. Probably my favorite episode yet. I admit, I had absolutely no idea what Steven and Layla were after the entire episode, and when he found it, I still had no clue what it was - I've given up trying keep track of any of the gods or MacGuffins or whatever - but that was still a fun, relatively contained, throwback kind of episode to Indiana Jones, The Mummy, etc. With a hell of a crazy ending.

Critics got the first four episodes in advance, so we've finally reached the point where everyone is caught up, on the same page, and in these last two episodes together. Looking forward to wherever it goes from here.

I am SOOO confused and ready to get my bearings back. I feel like I'm lost inside Marks or Steven's head and I want out!

Awesome episode top to bottom!

Wow!

The gods imprisoned Ahmet, similar to Konshu, and put her stone in the mummy, and buried her tomb. Harrow wants to release her, and I guess that means he needs it. I assume there is a ritual or something, or maybe you just break the statue. Marc/Steven will probably do it for Konshu, later.

Damn, that ending was fantastic. Any guesses on who or what is in that other sarco****us they saw?

Edit: I know this is a "family" website, but I hate the filters for words that are obviously not crude

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Maybe it's a spelling error…. I think it's sarco****us.

Edit: it did totally edit out the correct spelling of the word… so funny!
redline248
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Exactly. It's not enough to filter the "usual" ways to spell bad words. Have to get those sneaky alternate spellings

that was the perfect episode for disney to release on 4/20

I was beginning to wonder if we weren't going to get any aspect of the psychiatric hospital in the show. The Alexander the Great tie-in was pretty cool from a historical perspective too. Super weird episode but I loved it.

I'm going to guess that it is the third personality that has been hinted at.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, now I'm remembering. Thanks!

I still don't know what the hell is going on. In fact, I'm even more confused.

Still enjoying the show though.

I fallen asleep during an episode or two but I'm quite convinced that I wouldn't understand anything better if I had been awake and quite frankly it might be adding to the experience

This episode might be both the scariest and trippiest I've ever felt watching an MCU property. Good stuff.

So, is the confusion coming from whether or not everything prior to the last 10 minutes of this episode was real? I'm trying to figure out what everyone is finding hard to understand.

The MacGuffins just got to be too much for me. Too many gods and avatars and trinkets and statues and Egyptian names to keep track of/remember. It's all over the place in that regard.

The last few minutes, I actually had zero problem with. I'm guessing the mental hospital is just a mental projection/mental "jail" of some sort meant to make Mark/Steven *think* they imagined it all, but who knows. Either way, I'm less worried about that side of things.

I'll admit, when they went to the white-washed psychiatric home and you saw the main characters in different roles, I wondered what was going on. I knew this show wasn't going to finish with it all being the dream of a crazy man, but that did get me for some reason.

I feel like the entire plot has really only been 2 gods. They one we've seen (konshu) and the one everyone is searching for (ahmet). The rest of them don't matter. The scarab or the statues are just placeholders for the real "macguffin," which is ahmet. Of course, we still don't know how the villain plans to free ahmet. Maybe that is part of the psych ward sessions we saw with him and Marc.

Now, I completely understand having issues with the names. Like in some of those viking shows, keeping those dudes sorted b/c of how hard the names are to say.

This bolded above has been the heart of the issue for me. It's very "The Rise of Skywalker" in that regard (and not just the shared Jordan location), with one MacGuffin leading to/"being a placeholder" for the next, etc. That, and yeah, I honestly just can't ever remember which one is "Konshu" and which one is "Ahmet." I know the overall gist is that Ethan Hawke is trying to raise the bad one from the dead or whatever, but I admittedly can't remember WHY, exactly. If Ahmet can still judge people through Ethan Hawke and his cane, why does she need to be alive in the flesh? I'm sure it all checks out, and that they've mentioned all motivations before, it's just way too much to keep track of.

That was an unexpected turn at the end, I really liked it.

I think the weirder Marvel goes the more I like it on these shows.

just so yall know, the hippo exists because the executive producer saw a cartoon drawing of it and stared at it for a week before stopping the writing room to say "I've got something more important to discuss. how do we get that hippo in this show"

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Glad I came here to find that everyone else is just as lost. Speaking of lost, I also thinking the hospital was probably some sort of purgatory or mental jail.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Staff was imbued with some of Ahmets power. It can judge people once at a time. If they release Ahmet, then she can judge the whole world.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Ah, that's right.

Again, it all checks out, and makes sense when you break it down. It just feels like they wanted Ethan Hawke's motivation to be that he wants to raise Ahmet from the dead, but then decided that was too simple so they invented/reverse engineered all these other MacGuffins leading up to that, and I almost always hate when movies/shows go that route.

The ending made up for an episode that was otherwise just really not landing for me. I'm intrigued to see super weird psych ward dream land
Thanks and gig'em
