This from someone who got theirs today, not trying to derail.

Would be crazy if he just got one. According to some doctors, it sounds like the euro soccer and rugby players collapsing and even dying likely had myocarditis (heart inflammation) and stressed their cardio too much. Some doctors recommend no physical activity for 3-6 months in cases of heart inflammation. While it's not the same as running around on a soccer field for 90 minutes, I could see a first big show in a while being pretty taxing on the heart.

That being said, likely just random heart attack/aneurysm or accidental OD is my guess.

That would make sense, I have a friend that used to hang in LA back in the day, and said he was known to party a lot. Certain things are taxing on the heart.

Yep, humans are resilient and you can overcome a lot of hard living in your youth by making health changes and abstaining from drugs. Hell, even the liver can make amazing turnarounds. But continuing that lifestyle into your 50's and 60's is playing with fire. Not saying that's what happened here but it wouldn't surprise me with a traveling comedian and the lifestyle so many of them live. I'm hoping it wasn't drugs though.

Meh…people die at that age and earlier every day. Many of them are completely healthy. Our bodies are just like your car outside, sometimes things fail without notice. When your times up, it's up. I'm hoping for just a natural cause as well.

I'll admit this one bothers me, not because I'm a big fan of Bob Saget, but because I'm 57 years old. 65, 8 years from now? Too soon.

His sisters died young of some rare stuff as well. One had scleroderma, one had a brain aneurysm. He outlived them by decades even as young as he was. Bad genetics, drugs, and that road lifestyle will get you every time.

He also was getting that puffy face look in his last few public pictures. That's never a good sign either. He was abusing drugs or had something else going on. Norm had a very similar look and he had the cancer.

Watching America's Funniest Home Videos with my parents and sister back in the 90s, warm pizza on the counter... life didn't get much better. Bob will be missed?

Checked in with a buddy of mine tonight that it is an Ag and told me a story a long time ago about how they had their fraternity retreat in NOLA 20 years ago and ran into Bob Saget and Jonathan Silverman at Pat O's.

The crew chatted for a bit and asked the two of them if they wanted to come to their frat party and they said hell yeah we do.

So they indeed show up and my friend said it was one of the coolest nights of his life and that he mainly remembers talking to Silverman about Texas Rangers baseball bc he discovered Jonathan was a Kevin Elster fan but that Bob was cool as hell obviously.

I always remember enjoying his appearances on Craig Ferguson's show when they'd talk addiction and Saget would always say the most wheels off stuff.

I was going to say this is the most random thing I've ever read, but then I remembered Elster was in Little Big League with Silverman.

One of the telling things about Bob is how his friendships spanned different arts and different generations. He was close friends with John Mayer and was on his Instagram show and was great.

The medical examiner says cause of death was head trauma, per family. Apparently he hit his head at some point, didn't think much of it, then fell asleep and never woke up.

Ugh - will make you wonder anytime you get a knock on the head.

Since the impact itself apparently didn't bother him much, I imagine it was at least a pretty peaceful way to go.

Oh great now CNN lists he had Covid first and then died of the trauma

News is news; not commentary.

From CNN article:
Quote:

The report noted that a PCR test showed that Saget, 65, was also positive for Covid-19.
Saget, who died in his Orlando, Florida hotel room last month, had said in December that he had Covid-19, and PCR tests can return positive results for weeks after recovery.
The autopsy also noted he had an enlarged heart; 95% blocked on one side.
No alcohol was present in his system, according to the report. However, the report stated, his systems contained Clonazepam/Klonopin which is taken for seizures, panic disorders and anxiety. Additionally, the antidepressant Trazodone was found in Saget's system, the report said.

Klonopin is never used for seizures, it is an anxiety med, and trazodone is never used as an antidepressant, it's a sleep aid. They are both sedatives. If he took those meds the day he fell, the combination of the two undoubtedly would have contributed to the fall that killed him. It might also explain why he didn't immediately seek help when it happened, due to being too sedated. That or he was concussed. It is shocking the number of older adults that are taking multiple sedatives daily. I have seen numerous people die because they were too sedated to safely walk around their own house. I almost never prescribe sedatives in older adults, and should be absolutely contraindicated in anyone already on another sedating agent.

Extremely extensive skull fracturing, not consistent with a typical slip and fall

Anxiety disorder doesn't care how successful and or how much money you have.

The injury pattern is consistent with a slip and fall. There is a single contusion externally on the back of the head with a basilar skull fracture which can frequently be seen with slip and falls in the elderly. There is contrecoup contusion of the brain present that is typically seen with falls. Bilateral subdural hematomas are also common among falls in the elderly. The ocular fractures are consistent with increased intracranial pressure seen with significant intracranial bleeding, which is a rare finding, but is known to happen. I really don't see anything to make me suspect foul play based on the autopsy report.

Fracture of the superior orbit is NOT common even in severe trauma. If there is pressure to the anterior or posterior orbit, the floor is the first to break. This is highly unusual.

Add in a camera tripod and disgruntled photographer and it's reminiscent of Bob Crane's demise.
