Reported that he died in his sleep.

Seems like I just read something a day or two ago that he was with Billy and Frank. Then left to go home, hip bothering him or something.

Now he's gone.

Damn

Saw those guys numerous times over the years. Mainly at The Summit (those who know, know)

Always a great show

One of my favorite bands of all time. They were magic. I'm very sad to hear this, but they left a lot of great music behind.

Some bands were better, none were cooler.

RIP.

Dusty gave his blessing to the other guys to continue on with his bass tech. I guess that's cool but I won't go see them with anyone else in the band.

Hell, ZZ Top even managed to make their "Eliminator/Afterburner/Recycler" era cool. And they were most definitely the exception, not the rule, for that decade.

The first time I saw them was the last concert to close down the Summit. Along w/ Los Lobos and Cross Canadian Ragweed.

This one Hurts. The VERY FIRST album I ever bought was Tres Hombres when I was 9 years old. I saw ZZ TOP several (at least 7 or 8) times in concert. Always put on a good show, RIP Dusty Hill

ZZ Top spring of 1971 playing the Little Cypress Mauriceville High School prom. The band started to take off nationally but honored the contract and played the prom. The school had to have major security to keep fans from trying to sneak in to see them. This picture is from the schools yearbook.

Not as famous as dusty of course, but both are founding members of extremely influential and iconic bands of their respective eras.

It was Dusty. I think it was his collarbone?

That sounds right. Our entire group came out of Chilifest "retirement" just to see them. They replaced them with some Nashville dude and we didn't stay for that

Gary Allan. Terrible replacement. We left early too.
