It always seems like such a soft canon tie-in, though.

Everyone: Is The Incredible Hulk part of the MCU?
Marvel: *cough*ye*cough*es*cough*
Everyone: I'm sorry, what?
Marvel: *Averts eyes* Sure

Some of the comments I've read make me wonder if I need to give the first Venom another shot. It never really grabbed me, and I'm surprised by the box office post from Spilner.

Sigh. So do we think this means Venom is in No Way Home, Venom enters the MCU, or Spider-Man appears in Venom 3? I'm hoping it's the last one and doesn't affect the MCU at all.

I think its more likely that Spiderman is in Venom 3. Sony keeps saying they want their own cinematic universe for Spiderman.

that's my guess...that Marvel has helped Sony enough with Spidey that Sony is ready to go out on its own.

by no means is this movie great, but it's on par with the first one. plus, tom hardy and woody harrelson? i'd be in even if it was crap.

Had a lot of fun at the movie. Pretty full theater and the reaction to the post credits was so awesome.

I still think a Cletus Kassady origin movie in the style of Joker would have been great.

I liked the 1st movie. I expected almost nothing, but I thought it was fun and entertaining. I only watched it once it was free, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Ok this is not a good movie by any means, and Cletus is pretty terrible and the girl villain is all time horrible… but this was actually pretty entertaining simply because Venom is straight up hilarious. I mean he had me laughing hard throughout the whole thing.

Just saw Venom -- I laughed a lot, which is what I went in for
Can anyone tell me about the police officer at the end, chain around his neck, blue eyes, and saying something about monsters?

They are teasing Carnage's son, Toxin.

Rented it this morning, and it was pretty dumb, but fine. I do enjoy the Eddie and Venom banter, Hardy is well suited for the characters.

The post credit scenes of this film and Spider-Man just seemed collectively like a flex from Sony. Showing everyone that Venom and Spider-Man are their properties but I don't see them putting Venom into the MCU at this point, but who knows. Sony is going to do a Kraven film and Morbius, it feels more likely that Venom would be used to help those properties. After the reception that Andrew Garfield had from no way home I do think it would be interesting if they did something with him as Spider-Man in relation to Venom and for the MCU and Sony to keep Holland separate. Having another revenue stream for the same character.

Some say they are teasing that he may become Toxin (Carnage's unwanted offspring).
