I love when people get high and mighty on Texags.

Especially posters who have DM'd me dirty secrets about other TA posters... in a drunken moment of idiocy.

Thats all, you know who you are.

That happens A LOT.

Fall of 2012 was the worst. Dudes were giddy about football..and got...well...very talkative.

To bring this back to the show, did anyone else notice that when Fred fled to the US, the mentioned "he broke up with is wife". It made it seem like a really casual thing that stood out as weird to me.

I think the simplest explanation is probably the correct one here

All the main players were just awful people really.

Fred was less concerned with the harm 8chan was causing and more about his name being tied to it.

Jim appears to be a dirty old man who occasionally cuts his own hair with dull scissors

Ron is obsessed with the game and attention and desperately wants to take credit for Q

The rest of the QAnon people featured appear to have become addicted to the feeling of relevance. They didn't have a whole lot going on prior and quickly became internet famous. Now they do anything to keep that high going.

That was the biggest thing I think I took away from the documentary or the thread on F16 which I only clicked on once or twice and GTFO.

For some reason people thought by talking about Q and sharing it, they were doing their part to stop the elites and a world wide pedo ring.

It's the exact same thing as posting a black screen. You're just sharing a thought/image. You're not actually DOING anything but it gives you that dopamine hit of feeling like you're doing something important.

I think it was more than that. They also felt like they had some secret insight into what was going on. And as a result they were smarter than everyone else and not just more virtuous.

It is like the insanity around covid treatments. Going and getting a proven treatment (monoclonal antibodies)? Eff that. Going to tractor supply and grabbing some horse medicine? Sign me up and let me prove the libtard medical professionals wrong.

When you can wrap all your weird angst and hysteria and hate up into a single in-group? And knowing that the mere existence of that in-group infuriates your mortal enemy?

Oh man that's the best.

There was even this one guy retweeting this quack who believes cancer is caused by sex with demons in your dreams. This quack said things like "We don't have to die from COVID" "We have a cure". What sort of moron would retweet something like that.

Maybe we'll find out in two more weeks but only if the exponential math explains how mRNA variants flatten the curve.

who didn't want to be shown on camera was- I thought- very unique from any prior documentary I've seen before

There was also that earlier episode where someone was obscured by a ghostly figure with squiggly lines running over them- and that was almost more impressive since the documentarian was doing their interview in the same room with them, unlike the cicada guy

Can you prove that cancer is not caused by demon sex dreams? Please provide legitimate sources. Not any of those liberal elite sources like the American Medical Journal.

Which is worse? demon sex dream cancer or windmill noise cancer?
AustinAg2K
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Most people don't know this, but the demons like having sex on top of windmills. The noise you're hearing is actually demons having sex. So, really, they are the same kinds of cancer.

Now it all makes sense. I figured it was all fake news but didn't know why. This explanation makes much more sense than the alternative. #stillmypresident

The documentary is factual and fair. I'm not really sure what a "balanced" story on Q Anon would entail. A purported anonymous insider, on an imageboard chock full of fake insider trolls and child porn, spun a tale about child sex trafficking. And he led off by saying Hillary had been detained and was in the process of being extradited. Why this ever gained any traction after such an inauspicious start is the most interesting aspect to me. But then again Barnes completely fooled 16chan's finest.

Barnes posting as Clob94 is one of the most starred posters on the site. That's with most posters aware that this is just his current conservative persona.

The fact that the source is dubious makes no difference as long as it's telling you what you want to hear. That's kind of a cool parallel for purposes of this thread.

Well, leaving 16 behind, just finished the doc.
spoilers...

I do think in the end there is little doubt that Ron at a minimum was working with whomever Q is. But it is likely he is Q. The fact that the language pattern changed when it went to his site, that Q was loyal to the site, even after it was shut down, and didn't post in the interim, only to resurface months later when it came back up, to the watches, the pens, and then the semi admission at the end, plus him basically "coming out" with his Twitter account.
I also think even more of my tiger king comparison in the end. Fred moved back home with mom under indictment, Ron got scrubbed from Twitter, Jim apparently had money troubles etc.

So if all that's true, Q's got trolled by that group. As remarkable as it is sad.

But I still say the point of it all is much deeper. Have to find a way to keep people out of those rabbit holes, legally of course.

This was that moment at the end of the doc.

Spoiler I guess, but can't rally put this in a tag but the tags stop the description.

No time today to read all 19 pages here, but that was a great documentary that really paid off in the end.

Also I'd like to thank Texags for taking up most of my time so I never used my something awful account all that much....
