Was talking to the dude I traded with about this one. Said he already messaged the dude just to check and the guy said he's not in Louisiana, he's in Illinois so a confirmed scam. Not that it wasn't 99.999999% a scam from the start.

We took the family a few years back and I got to meet him and play some of the older basses he has in there. Guy is a riot and has played with a lot of greats. Shop is full of wonderful finds acoustic, electric, bass, or amp.
I sound like an ad but this is a must stop if you haven't been there.

Is there a way, and is there any interest in sharing videos of participants in this thread playing through some of this badass equipment? In the interest of anonymity, the videos would be guitar and hands only. I'd be glad to contribute, but mostly I'm interested in the tones from various guitars and amps. It would be better than the same thing on youtube, because we could discuss stuff.
I love guitars. I have around twenty or so, but I'm not really looking for anything new anymore. I just like learning from other people's experience until I open my own guitar shop in 7 years.

Sort of accidentally pulled the trigger on a Gretsch G2622 today. 
I say accidentally because I've been looking at getting a smallish tube amp to upgrade from my Yamaha THR10, but going down all the rabbit holes of that search, I managed to remind myself how I've been wanting a Gretsch hollow body for a long time and this was too good a deal to pass up. If I remember I'll post pics once it gets here.
Now time to sell some stuff to finance the tube amp I still haven't bought...

I'm not even sure how to reply to this thread at the moment.
But I was looking at a Gretsch earlier today, too. Really trying to not buy anything for a while. I want to grab an LP, SG, or a PRS. And had my eye on some of them.
And that "$255 on hobbies" is hilarious. They're off by an order of magnitude. Golf, guitar, bourbon, and Aggie Sports. And my kids' sports, which I'm not sure counts as a hobby, but that's more than my Football seats.

Just got this from the seller. They shipped it back to New York all without a single scan. Checked the address and that's all correct. He said the label wasn't damaged or anything. He's trying to talk them into overnighting it for free after this one.

It is what it is. Based on his second comment I think he's even more annoyed than me. I'm just glad it showed back up somewhere and didn't walk off from the hub. I've been checking Facebook marketplace and other sites to see if it showed up for sale somewhere. He said they're supposed to call him back before five. It's just a totally insane deal.
The only thing close I've ever had was a guitar I shipped 15 years ago that got delivered to a house black from where I sent it and when the guy I was shipping to got there the label had been replaced with a different one with the other address. That one I'm not convinced the guy wasn't somehow in on it based on reviews of him I read after he became a problem with other things.

Was just texting with my cousin about it. He works at a firearms dealer that sells everything you can own. He said it happens more often than you'd think. Said they won't have any idea where a gun is because of FedEx and then it'll just show back up, which is slightly terrifying.
