What strings would yall recommend for that acoustic we bought? The strings it came with seem pretty janky. I would prefer no nylon.

I've read some reviews that recommend swapping the electronics out of this pickguard into the original because the one-ply doesn't fit well.
I'm going to see if I can find a pearloid replacement that will work.

What kind brand pickups, pots, cap, switch?
I think they are Golden Age. The StewMac house brand.
$77 for the whole loaded pickguard. Read a lot of reviews. It's supposed to be an upgrade over stock Squier electronics of this age/model.
It's not Gilmour or Texas Special or 57/62, but I wanted something to upgrade while I get experience working on a guitar.

If it came strung with nylon, keep using nylon. Putting steel strings on that guitar will tear it up. The neck isn't built for the tension steel strings create.Sea Speed said:

That Eagles Strat signed by Glen Frey, Don Felder, Don Henley, Timothy Schmit and Joe Walsh looks pretty cool. Not sure if someone would actually play that onstage or just keep it as a keepsake...

Back in the day Robin Guitars made The Artisan, which was an SG shaped axe that was built more like a Les Paul. Thicker body, binding, etc. I played one in Houston one time and thought it was cool, so I'd always wanted one. The other day I found this replica on Ebay and couldn't pass it up. Should be here Friday.

I remember around 2002 or so there was a shop on University that would sell their "Aggie Special". It was a lefty strat stung right handed with an Aggie sticker on the pick guard. Can't remember what they wanted for that.

This guy is currently debating whether to take his Mr. Big bass to the Mr. Big show tonight in Houston. Paul Gilbert is the only one in the band that has yet to sign it but supposedly won't be signing any outside merchandise at the meet and greet.
I told him he's going to end up lugging around a bass all night for nothing if he takes it.
