Was looking for a good drive pedal. I have a TI Boost, which is great as a transparent treble booster. I also have a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe to do that "Klon" thing.
After going through many videos, and of course being a fan of That Pedal Show, decided to grab a used Keeley D&M Drive. Just got it in yesterday and hooked it up to my board, this morning. Really enjoying it. I'm most impressed by how transparent the drive (or "Dan") side is. When I engage it and roll the volume on my guitar back to about 8, it sounds almost identical to my guitar without the pedal engaged. I love a transparent overdrive pedal.
The boost side pushes the mids just a bit, but also sounds great. Highly recommend this pedal from what I have played on it so far. Single coils or humbuckers sound great.

PRS Bernie Marsden w/ Fishman Fluence pickups. Eack pickup gets three sounds depending on how the push-pull pots are set (single coil, PAF, hot humbucker). I've since added gold pup covers to complete the Black Beauty look.
PRS SE Singlecut with Fralin Twangmaster bridge pup and Railhammer Cleancut neck pup. The Fralin sounds just like a Tele bridge pup.
PRS Zack Myers w/ EMG 89s, coil splits.

The infamous Chibson Les Paul, third edition (non headstock break). If not for the binding (close to being white instead of cream) and the Epiphone bridge, it could pass for authentic at first glance.
AIO/Wolf LP77 with EMG 89s and coil splits. A well made guitar that was supposedly from the Cort factory (where the PRS SE line used to be manufactured). I've read recently that they may be sourced from Vietnam now.

I went to Toneshop in Addison yesterday to get a Truetone 1spot CS-12 power supply (mother F this thing is awesome!).
Plek services - $50 to scan but they'll give you that in credit towards any services recommended from the scan. It has been insanely popular so it is about a 10 day wait. you drop your guitar off and they'll call you once they scan and tell you what they propose. Could be as minimal as tweaking the truss rod or a full refret and nut replacement. Just depends on the shape of the neck/frets and the desired action you want.

Will do. Lot's of monkeying around today to figure out which order i'll put my pedals to get the right ones in the effects loop, loop pedal in the right spot to loop what I want w/or w/out distortion, etc.

I can see getting a PLEK if you have a high fret or two. Even though I have a few tools to deal with that I think I'd eventually look into a PLEK job. But if we're talking about a high end Fender or PRS or something I'd hope it would be redundant.
Any recommendations on kits or specific tools for setups? The blue PRS strings are way too high and if I can start handling this myself and not pay $50 for the local shop to do it that would be awesome.

- clean and oil fretboard
- polish frets
- set neck relief with truss rod adjustments
- set intonation
- lubricate nut
- set action/string height with bridge adjustments

Fretboard
- There are several various fretboard conditioners out there you can look at. I have always used 000 steel wool on unfinished fretboards (rosewood or ebony, not glossed maple) with a little spray of the fretboard cleaner on it. You don't have to push down too hard with the steel wool, and be sure to clean in strokes along the grain of the board. That will lift off a lot of the grime and even polish the frets a bit
- Be sure to cover your pickups with masking or painters tape, first, otherwise the magnets will grab all those little pieces of steel.
- For polishing frets, you can just use the dunlop fret polish cloths along with the metal fret covers to help protect your board.
- Use the dunlop lemon oil to oil the entire board and wait a sec. If the board absorbs it all quickly, then do another pass. Go until it doesn't soak immediately. I then wipe a bit with a paper towel
Neck Relief
- To check neck relief, capo the first fret and hold down the low e string where the guitar meets the body. Then, tap the string in the middle between the first fret and where you are holding the string. There should be just the tiniest bit of gap. If the string is touching the frets, you need more relief. If it's too bowed, you need to loosen the truss rod.

Lubricate the nut
- There are several products out there, like nut juice. You can also just use a graphite pencil to lubricate the string slots of your neck. I actually use carmex lip balm to lubricate and it works great. Just put a little in each slot and string your guitar
Set Action or string height
- the dunlop kit provides a fantastic tool for adjusting a tonepros like bridge. For strats, they generally provide that little allen key in the case candy.
- Setting action height and neck relief come down to your personal preference. How high an action you have is completely subjected. I hate strings laying too close to the fretboard because I don't want fret buzz and I love to grip into the string when I bend. When they're too low, my finger slips off when I try to bend.
Intonation
- For those who don't know, intonation refers to the guitar being on key when you fret higher up on the neck. Basically, you play an E when you hit the open string and E when you fret at the 12th fret. If the 12th fret is flat, you need to shorten the string length at the saddle. If the 12th fret is sharp, you need to lengthen the string by backing the saddle off a bit.
- You should intonate each string separately and after you make all your other adjustments. If you set your relief or action after you intonate, you will need to intonate again.
- Intonation will change over the string's lifespan. I your guitar begins to loose intonation over time, it's probably time for a string change.
I will say, all this usually takes me at least an hour to do, usually a bit over an hour. I just kick back on a saturday with some tunes and work methodically until I'm done. You will end up with a fantastic feeling guitar.
I do not level out frets. So if you are buying cheaper guitars, you may run into actual fret issues, you may need to have resolved. Some do this themselves, but I have never done it. Though, to be honest, if I HAD bought a cheap guitar that needed it, I would probably have no problem trying it because I wouldn't mind messing it up. I have never had a build quality issue with my guitars, but my average price of a guitar is probably over $2,000.

The process in the video looks cool and final products look pretty nice on her gallery page. She's got a bunch on her site of the Dead, Stones, sports teams, and just art designs and she'll apparently do custom designs.

Just got my first classical nylon string. Been wanting one for a while. I first tried a Classical with a 2" nut, but that was way too much space for this steel player. So went with a Hybrid mode with a 1 7/8" and 650mm scale. It is a Cordoba Fusion Orchestra. Sounds so warm with the cedar top. Played several at Guitar Center, and the one that stood out for me was this one, I actually ordered it from Sweetwater though, so I got to pick the one that looked the best to me.

lol. yea definitely married. The 55 point thing is more a marketing gimmick, I think, but there is some truth to it.
I got a card of all the things checked and signed off by 2 different Sweetwater reps. There are 55 items and each get a check by an inspector. but some things are not applicable due to the instrument. For example, I didn't have checks for pickgard, truss rod cover side I don't have one on this guitar. I think they only do this on guitars that are over $300 or something,
Overall very satisfied with Sweetwater.

Thanks I was curious...I had a guitar on order with them for over 6 months that Epiphone kept missing shipments on then found one literally hanging on a wall here locally so ended up cancelling it.
I like that they always send you candy.

This is my first ever tube amp. I've had it home about an hour and loving it.
I put together this list to start with. I am interested to hear feedback on what you guys think as far as if I'm overdoing it/ omitting something. I purposefully left off tuner pedal for now as I don't plan on gigging ever. This is just for my own (and neighbors) enjoyment.
