I don't see any ME-5 units listed. There are some ME-6 models listed from $72-$153.
Just dropped off my PRS MT15 at the shop. Powered it on a while back and it just sort of came on and then faded out. Wouldn't turn on after that. Tried swapping the fuse with the replacement that came with it but that didn't work. Strong chance I may end up getting the upgraded version regardless if the outcome.
Might be a long shot, but if anyone has a lead on a Taylor GA6, that looks like the one in the photos, please contact me. I had this guitar many years ago, and there was a time when money got pretty tight, and I sold it. Looking to buy one again, but it's a discontinued model, and a quick internet search has not yielded fruitful results.
Not to twist the knife, but DAMN that's a gorgeous guitar. Wish I had one of those myself!! Good luck in your search!

I had a paid account with ChatGPT and was using it to comb through around 50-60 online retailers, daily, to check for certain guitar models, colors, or specs. It was really cool to get my daily report with links, when it found a match.
I think the new Grok bots can also do this.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never used that tool, but my wife has a paid Chat GPT account for her business. I'll get that set up.
Yeah. It hurt to sell it. I remember telling people many times that I would run into a burning building to save that guitar.
Funny enough….my wife & I were playing one of those games where they ask existential questions, one being "what is your husband's most prized possession" and I wrote down "my Aggie Ring" and she wrote down, "his guitar", hahaha!!

Got a call this morning. Output transformer blew and they aren't able to get the part. Said I might be able to call PRS but everything I'm reading says they won't sell to individuals for whatever reason. Found another post where someone was quoted almost $600 for the repair. I could get another used one for significantly less than that.
So now I guess the question is that, given this appears to be a known issue, should I even consider another used one.
I was curious so I asked Claude to find a similar replacement part. It came up with the Hammond 1760j. That's like $85 or something. Not sure how that would affect your sound, though.
New Tremonti Day!
I've been on the hunt for a reasonably priced Gen 1 to send back for a refinish and found one last week. Guitar's in rough condition finish wise but is all original. Given the refinish part, I don't really care about the finish. Only bad side is my suspicion that it was showing up without the original case ended up being true. They didn't have any pictures or mention of a case. It at least showed up in a hard shell case well packed.

And for the record this new one is just black currently. It might become a midnight blue metallic or a cloud burst whenever I decide to send it back to the PRS Technical Center to be refinished, but not sure yet.

Somewhere around $1500. I've considered going 3rd party, but I'd prefer to have them do it.
Third party would give me more options but damage value further. PRS limits what you can do a bit I guess based on what they have on hand. Even for opaque finishes.
