This one always made me think why??? She's a prisoner and why would she run to the choppa?

Couldn't find this in video form, but this has always stuck out as being such an awkward scene.

Anakin: You are so beautiful.
Padme: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin: No. No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padme: Then love has blinded you?
Anakin: Well that's not exactly what I meant.
Padme: But it's probably true.

One of the prequels was on on my ship last night so I watched it and Holy **** it was so terrible. You had a guy riding a giant lizard through a cave to fight a constantly shape-shifting robot and then the lava fight scene was just so ridiculous as well. The dialog was terrible and the special effects were worse. Wow. So bad.

Casino Royale (2006) explaining poker:
Vesper - "I was worried there was chance involved"
Bond - "Only if you think the player best hand wins"
Vesper - "So there will be what they call bluffing?"
Bond [with admiration] - "You've heard the term"
What???? Everyone has heard of bluffing.
I had no problem with this. Then again, Eva Green could belch out Def Leppard lyrics and I wouldn't have a problem with it.Zombie Jon Snow said:TriAg2010 said:

I don't think that's how it went..... well that wasn't my interpretation.
They were both being incredibly snarky.....she doesn't like the plan, he doesn't know who she is or why he has to answer to her.
When Vesper said there would be bluffing she was being sarcastic. And when bond said you've heard of it that was a jab back at her. In fact he almost immediately follows that up by saying (to show he could read people) that she had an undercurrent of sarcasm in her tone for example.
I mean you can call that poorly written or delivered if you want - but neither was being serious at the moment. I thought that was pretty obvious - they were taunting almost, or testing each other. It was classic Bond manufactured tension with a femme fatale character.
imho

The problem I had with Casino Royale was the extremely elementary narration of the actual game by the dealer. Like he was explaining the game and hands to first-time players, instead of those with $10M stakes.

Most people would get nauseated watching their parents Bond after flirting. What kind of pervy family do you come from?TriAg2010 said:
I get what your saying, and I think they have awesome chemistry through the movie. Those two lines of dialog just give me that nausea of watching your parents flirt and not Bond.

I actually had a hand like that on FullTilt way back when. It was insane and I 1-outted the river while all-in. I think 4 people had killer hands and were all in. I had AhKd and flop was QhJhTh. Another player had pocket queens, another had something good (forgot what, think it was JJ), and the last player had 9h8h and flopped the straight flush. Board paired on the turn, then my Kh came on the river so I lucked out and got the Royal Flush. And everyone in the SnGZombie Jon Snow said:HtownAg92 said:I had no problem with this. Sure - that made me eyeroll too.... but given the audience (bond fans) are not necessarily poker players I "got" it. they felt the need to spell it out in detail. Only poker players would scoff which we did.
What killed me was the absurdity of the hands all at the same time. Especially the last hand which of course was in order of showdown was:
A(h) - 8(s) - 6(s) - 4(s) - A(d) on the board
Japanese guy shoves all in with KQs for the highest possible flush
CIA guy has 88 for a full house of 888AA
Le Chiffre of course has A6 for a full house of AAA66
And of course Bond has 57s for the straight flush 45678s
Seeing a boat beat the nut flush happens....and "boat over boat" is rare but happens....
seeing boat over boat over nut flush....that's stretching it....
but a Straight Flush over boat over boat over nut flush.... that's like the craziest poker hand ever.
But it was also a little questionable - Le Chiffre did not have the nut boat A8 would have been the best boat. His call of Bonds over the top all in is a little questionable given his hand. It is a boat yes but beaten by A8 for example. He had lots of chips left if he folds to Bond there to play heads up with what he has left. So we have to assume he thought Bond was bluffing.
What is more incredible (and somewhat justifies La Chiffre's call) is that Bond should not have been in after the flop anyway. How did they not bet 57 off preflop. CIA guy should have been raising sizably with his 88 and somewhat short stacked. 57 even suited would then likely fold.
Anyway... the poker itself bugged me more than the dealers description. Just the likelihood of 4 monster hands happening all at the same time. Yeah I don't think so. But it's a movie so - drama and wrap it up quickly cuz we got things to do in the movie.
