Ha, seriously, what in the world is happening here? I was randomly scrolling Twitter, saw two harmless comedians I like praising a sequel to what I thought was a basically universally loved comedy, a sequel I've been curious to hear whether it lived up to the original or not. I thought, "Oh, sweet. I'll throw this up on TexAgs." I post it, and then people are essentially like, "Yeah, I don't want to see this now." Which is a surprising reaction to have to seemingly good news.
So there's either a contingent of people who can't stand one of the most popular and quoted comedies of all time, but choose to read about it on a message board - or - there are people who can't stand Seth Rogen and Paul Scheer for some reason, which I legitimately didn't know was a thing - or - it's the typical nonsense of people getting upset at a movie they haven't yet seen for possibly having political views they don't share (hence my "timely" question). All of which are equally baffling to me. So, out of genuine curiosity, I jokingly asked what the issue is, and then all the sudden all these anti-Borat/me people come out of the woodwork and start yapping at me, as if enjoying Borat, of all movies, is some sin I didn't know I committed.
I could not care less if people aren't looking forward to this movie, but I'm scratching my head as to why that Tweet, specifically, is all the sudden bringing out the pitchforks. This whole sequence of events is so bizarre to me.
