I'm a big Prince fan, but the quest on the Prince planet was one of the dumbest things I've ever read. It also went on way to long. Also, I feel like in RPO, you didn't need to be super knowledgeable on the references to get what was going on. I was super lost with all the LOTR crap. The author just did a horrible job of bringing in uninformed readers into the world with this one.

Yeah, the Prince/LOTR sections were the parts that I skipped paragraphs/pages at a time. I agree, it was hard to get into if you aren't a superfan. I like John Hughes movies and Prince, but I thought he went way too deep/obscure/nerdy into both of those. Not a LOTR fan, so that section lost me from the beginning....

I've got 150 pages left and don't think I can finish it. Jesus, it's boring. I liked the first one but can't get into this one.
