I wouldn't expect someone who hasn't worked in the industry to understand. And there have been other movies with flight vehicles that try a little harder to be technically accurate. Apollo 13 comes to mind.MuckRaker96 said:I bet you guys loved Star Wars, and Star Trek, and ID4, and EVERY MOVIE WITH A FLYING MACHINE EVERwbt5845 said:
The problem with Air Farce One is for those of us who have worked in aerospace, or more specifically 747-400. The techinical inaccuracies make the movie unwatchable.
Wow, what university did you get your MS in ******baggery from?wbt5845 said:I wouldn't expect someone who hasn't worked in the industry to understand.MuckRaker96 said:I bet you guys loved Star Wars, and Star Trek, and ID4, and EVERY MOVIE WITH A FLYING MACHINE EVERwbt5845 said:

But did Ford know that it was an emergency landing?Brian Earl Spilner said:
Have you ever done an emergency landing in the middle of a golf course?
Because Harrison Ford has.
Oldman is never the weak link, in any movie.Proposition Joe said:
Good movie. Oldman is the weak link though - was far too much an over-the-top screaming/evil baddie. Seemed very cliche. The daughter served no real purpose, the mole was a little too far-fetched, and while Harrison Ford can play a good accidental action hero (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger) - it's tough to buy him as a lone wolf hero that can dispatch 4-5 trained soldiers on his own, even with the "vietnam vet" history.
Now obviously McClane's heroics were far more over the top, I just felt he was far more believable in pulling that kinda stuff off.
And Hans Gruber is an all-time movie villian.
Pretty much no villain can, to be fair! Best villain of all time.Proposition Joe said:
But can he even hold a candle to Hans Gruber?

And, there's no such thing as too much "over the top screaming" from Oldman.
You left off the part where they somehow also turned a Security Service agent on the President's security detail in those three weeks.HtownAg92 said:
Entertaining movie. You have to take the technical stuff in any movie with a grain of salt, so no beef with any of it. But one underlying part of the whole movie is really, really unrealistic.
America-Russia jointly take a Kazak dictator -- Fine
President goes to Russia to celebrate -- Um, ok still fine
President takes his whole family along -- Ummm, ok, sure
On the flight back, President allows some press to ride back with him, including some local, who are actually from Kazakstan and terrorists in disguise. Somehow, in the three weeks since Radak was captured, they were able to get press credentials that were elite enough to get on Air Force One. Somehow, in the midst of regional tension, the Secret Service, President, State Department are going to allow some foreign press on the President's plane, with the President and his family on it, with no vetting.
The whole movie depends on them being on the plane, so I get why they did it. But come on.
Is that intentionally supposed to be Fauci on the receiving end?Brian Earl Spilner said:
