I love Training Day, but the Snoop, Dre, and Macy Gray cameos always take me out of it. Denzel should play a villain more often, he's amazing in that movie.Bruce Almighty said:

No romantic storyline or relations thrown in (rightfully so, I might add!)
What I mean is that it put story over action. Count me in the "found it boring" camp. Was bored watching it and never went back and tried again.
On the other side of the spectrum, I've watched the movie dozens of times, read the 20-book series three times (never heard of them until the movie), and wish the BBC would make a long-term TV series based on those books.
I needed about 15% less Bettany's Botany, but other than that I enjoyed it. It's one I need to watch again, though. I probably haven't seen it in 10+ years.

I agree. I really like Serenity and loved the Firefly series, but Fellowship of the Ring takes the cake in a head to head no matter how you slice it.

LOTR is fantasy, not sci-fi, the first Matrix is one of my favorite movies of all time, the other two are meh, and Avatar was great in the theater, but the story is lacking and isn't nearly as good on a tv.
Fair enough, I thought you were talking about the region. In that case, it might be the best of the decade. Matrix2 was good but probably more due to the ending then the entirety.
