I still laugh about the same issue with Chris Penn as Willard in Footloose. When we first meet him, he's got a country boy accent. Granted, it's terrible but he plays it up thick.
Then, it's gone forever. Literally in no other scene.
Until finally he ditches all ****s and just reverts to his 80's Southern California accent.

Reminds me of Elizabeth Olsen's Russian/Eastern European accent going away slowly over the course of three or so Avengers movies.

I think the Russos stated this was intentional as part of her training as a spy...think under the guidance of Black Widow. Could just be a cover for them realizing the accent wasn't working out.

Feris Burlers Day Off was written for an actor like him....cause everything else he's been in just plain sucks and he's a major reason for it
