Yeah the list starts with Casablanca and Citizen Kane, the two most important movies of the first 75 years of cinema.
Then you get into a grey area and it depends on what you care about-
Star Wars for instance basically legitimized an entire Sci-fi genre that now dominates the industry. It redefined special effects, what action adventure could be etc.

this is really hard.

i think 'the Sound of Music' is about perfect. it's the only musical that i can watch and enjoy each time. it's flawless (imo)

'12 angry men' is great

'the best years of our lives' is one that not a lot of people have seen, but is excellent.

my controversial pick would be 'Terminator 2'. so good.

Back door angels vol 6.


Volumes 1-5 were good but the characters perfectly came together in vol 6.

Vol 7-9 were sloppy work focused on loose story telling that weren't as hard hitting as the earlier films.
