Early magic hours if your resort has it is the way to go! We were in Orlando early October for horror nights at universal and got a day in at Hollywood.. we were lined up to get in the park at 6 and rode smugglers run 3 times before normal park hours.

Rise runs a little different (if they're still doing the same setup since opening in December). At 7 the Disney app let's you join a boarding pass which could be for any part of the day.

Haven't ridden it yet but looking forward

We like Skippers Canteen at MK and Tiffins at AK. If you have a Landry's card, no need to make a reservation at Yak and Yetti or Rainforest or any of the Landry restaurants at Disney Springs.

You can make reservations for the Light Saber build, droid making, and Cantina now online. You don't have to show up day of and wait in line.

Go make your fast pass selections NOW. My Disney Experience is what you should be using.

A good buffet at AK is Tuskar House in the Africa section. Characters and all you can eat!

Just imagine how 1/6 would've played out if DC hadn't had such strict gun laws.

Two people starred his post as of the time of this signature. Those 3 people are allowed to vote in the US.

So for the app for RoR boarding passes, if my wife and I are standing next to each other in the park at the second or opens, can we both try to book? Or does that break the app?

And someone mentioned we shouldn't use the lark WiFi, but I assume the app has to know we are in the park to let us get a boarding pass.

At animal kingdom there are some good places to eat. SatulinCanteen in Pandora is a great quick service. Flame Tree bbq is pretty good as well. Yak and Yeti is both sit down and quick service and is great.

Magic Kingdom is a little light on non theme park food. Columbia harbor house is pretty good fish and chips. You can catch the monorail over to the Polynesian and Kona Cafe is a great lunch or dinner option that usually has reservations open unlike Ohanas. Lot of option for dining at downtown Disney.

All Star sports is pretty light on dining. Maybe some stuff has changed from when I worked in the stores there 10 years ago but I kinda doubt it.

I recommend checking out disboards.com. They have forums for theme park planning, threads specific to hotels like the all stars for questions, and even for dining.
SatulinCanteen was very good. We ate at Flame Tree several years ago, and I recall liking that as well. Our last trip, we did the character breakfast at Tusker House. I think their menu for lunch/dinner is quite different than breakfast, breakfast was standard American fare but it was good.

I'd also recommend O'Hana's at the Polynesian if you like meat. You'll get lots of really tasty meat there. But without a reservation, that may be tough to get a table at. Inside Magic Kingdom, Be Our Guest is good. It is 2 dining credits for dinner, but for lunch it is a quick service location.

Lunch for be our guest does require a reservation but if you get there right when they open you can usually sneak in. It is good food.

If by some luck you get an ohanas that isn't at 8:45 at night jump on that.

My wife and I were at DL but I assume it's generally the same as DW. We both tried to book through the app at the same time - she got us into a boarding group and mine just said "something went wrong." It didn't create any problems for us though. We were also both using our cell data as we heard the same thing about avoiding WiFi.

The whole experience was pretty surreal. It was like a sci fi movie where suddenly everything stopped right around 9 and everyone was on their phones. Within 30 seconds there were loud cheers from those who got on and groans from those who didn't. The whole process is quite stressful. I didn't expect it to be that difficult on a random Tuesday in February.

By the way, the ride itself is something else. As another poster said, it's more of an experience and it feels like you're in the movie. My son is 9 and loves SW and this was the highlight of his trip.

Today is our last day at Hollywood Studios. Inside the park to try and get in a boarding group when the park opens at 8.

Try for the end of your reservation. That seems to work best for FOP and other high demands.

Yeah, that worked for me last time, but we're only there Wednesday/Thursday so I'm sure people arriving on Sunday already scooped it up

So any tips? Just open the app at 7:59:59 and hope the internet is good?

Just keep trying. We have gotten FP's the day before for FOP. People drop and Disney has been known to add more.

Don't use the WiFi and find the strongest signal you can find, also use multiple phones if you have them. We got groups 71 and 84 last week, so you can see we're experts. Lol. But, got to ride it both times.

Did this yesterday. RoR has had a rough week and we were unlucky. Group 74 yesterday. Was standing next to a guy who got 6 and I got 74, 10 seconds later. Not kidding.

The ride was down most of the morning. Talk about stressful tracking it all day. They got to group 68 around 6pm, but I believe everyone in line from around 63 on did not get to ride it, as it broke down around 6:00. There was a very upset crowd gathered around the ride when they sent a notification to everyone's app at 6:30 saying it wasn't happening. We left and went to MK.

Of course today it got to 129 last I checked. Yesterday I believe was its worst day since opening.

I purposely did not spoil myself by reading about it or watching a POV video. I finally watched it last night and holy cow it's incredible looking. I can see why it breaks down so much! Just an insane amount of technical details.

Also want to add the crowds were insane all week. And we were there weekdays. We did this same week three years ago and had our run of the place. Not this time.

I'm going next week to Disneyland and I assume that Galaxy's Edge protocol is pretty much the same as Disneyworld? I mean as in to get inside immediately when it opens, try to get a boarding pass to Rise of the Resistance, and then ride other stuff and do smuggler's run in the afternoon?

Yeah. I went to the Millenium Falcon area right away because I kept checking my network speed in different areas and it was quite strong there. Right at 8 I joined a boarding group. Got 32. It was so easy.

Yes, good approach. Be in park at opening if you want a boarding pass.

I'll be going in July. Any expectations that Rise of the Resistance will be on FastPass by then?

Edit: To specify, going to Disney World.

No one knows. Did it twice a couple of weeks ago and it was a fun experience.

We rode it today (2/28). At the park gates at 0715. Moved back to Toy Story Land, along with a billion other people. Got group 68 (3rd overflow group). Ride performed well today (minimal down time) and we were on at 4:30. Really fun attraction.

What we did for our group of 10:
-All profiles are managed by me.
-Wife and I both logged into the app.
-I got in first; you have to click each person in your party.
-We killed every other open app and restarted our phones about 0745.

Oh yeah, Hollywood was a zoo! Ass to elbow the whole time. We did Slinky right away and were off by 9. Also did the alien spin deal without a FP. Otherwise it was FP rides and shows all day. Lines were nuts.
