I finished the last two of Red Rising series. Also read The Deserter by DeMille. Thought it was good, but as already stated, a little drawn out.
Listening to A Jezebel Remedy by Martin Clark now.
And just started the 1632 The Ring of Fire Series.

Six Easy Pieces : Richard Feynman (some of the Tyson-Degrasse stuff made me wish my grasp of physics was better. My engineering buddy recommended it. I actually have a better understanding of wave-particle and uncertainty principles after reading.)

Thrawn: Timothy Zahn (Loved his Thrawn stuff in the 90's, this was good enough I already ordered the next book.)

Witcher: Lady of the Lake


Damn good series, once you get rolling. There's an 8th and final book that came many years later - I think just a random collection of adventures. I'll get to that one soon. But now I have to play Witcher 1 for the first time, then 2 and 3 again.

  • Meh. If you are into mythology you would probably like this otherwise it's just ok. Collection of short stories that Gaiman has put together from multiple sources and then taken some leeway with them to flesh out a bit.

    Sorry, I should have made it more clear that the "A" was the grade I gave the book. I loved it. As with his other books, prepare to have your heart stings pulled. Things got dusty for me several times.

    • The Hero of Ages (Mistborn #3) - going to finally finish this on Audible. I do continue to be amazed at how amateur Sanderson's prose is in this trilogy but the ideas are good.
    • Revenger - Alastair Reynolds. Abandoned this. I really didn't like the first several chapters. Seemed amateurish and then I went online and discovered it was YA. That explained that.
    • The Martian - Andy Weir


    I'm trying to have one Audible book that I listen to on commute and then one other non-Audible. One really annoying thing about Audible though is that it doesn't sync well back to Kindle. Both owned by Amazon so that not working well baffles me, but whatever.
