I freaking loved Stranger Things and I am looking for my next show.

Enjoyed Longmire.

Watch the first 2 episodes. if you do not like them, you will probably not like the series.

if you have Prime, watch Justified.

Also, for a quick series on Netflix you could check out Bodyguard. 6-episode British series, fast paced, about the bodyguard of what I guess is their Secretary of State equivalent. Fun trying to figure out who did what, and what the hell is going on.

Yes Longmire overall is pretty good. I'd say it's best is season 3. Didn't care for parts of the plot line after that. But it's still good.

It popped up as something to watch when I looked to see if BSG was on Netflix

I loved it. Watched S1 one on TV but stopped when it was cancelled. Came back to it years later on Netflix and was glad they picked it up and ran it to a nice conclusion.

BSG(The 2000s miniseries and series) is on Amazon Prime. Unfortunately, Razor is not.

I enjoyed it, although always in the back of my mind was that they sure had a lot of murders for such a sparsely populated county.

Longmire is one of the few Cop Dramas that I actually cared about watching due to acting skills, characters, stories and setting. Never read the books either.

Echo this. We really liked it, but I told my wife that county made Chicago look safe. I'm not sure it was a murder per episode, but it was close.

The homicide rate in that county was out of control.

Definitely worth it

Worth it for Lou Diamond Phillips alone

What's better Justified or Longmire? Both are still on my watchlist. For reference, we just caught up on Bosch and loved it.

Bodyguard is really good.

If you liked Bosch Justified would be a great choice.

I've watched some Longmire and like it but Justified was great. First season is a bit shaky because the episodes are somewhat stand alone. The arcs get better after that and Seasons 2/4 are outstanding.

I watched 3 episodes.

Loved it

The Mrs. and I watched every episode through Netflix (the mail DVD kind).

We really liked it.
It plays well with the slightly older audience.

I've been watching Longmire and at this point I'm just watching it because i watched 4 seasons and just have the compulsion to see it through.

It's not the worst, but it just jumps around so much and the "love" life of Longmire goes through weird ups and downs (I know it changed hands from AMC to Netflix, so the abrupt shifts in what seemed important in on season and then the next for each character is jarring... also, Vic's love life "sub plots" is a mess as well.

Knowing what i know now on the last episode of Season 5, I wouldn't have started it.

That's mostly because Vic's life is a mess. They kind of hint at why she moved out there to Wyoming in the first place which I think would have explained the basis, but I don't remember if they ever really explained why.

I was hooked on this series quickly. Season 5 frustrated me, but I was happy with how they landed the plane in season 6 and wrapped it up nicely.

I thought the acting was fantastic. Great show. I got so hooked that now I'm reading the books and blew through the first one in a couple of days.

So the books are good?

Longmire is excellent. Justified is even better.

Fun fact - Longmire is most filmed around Las Vegas, NM and Walt's place is inside an extinct volcano.

The first one was. It's of the "mass produced, easy read, but all in all very enjoyable" variety of fiction if you know what I mean. I don't mean that as in the writing is of low quality or I felt like I'm settling and trudged through to finish. One book in and I'm enjoying it all a lot. The characters are slightly different than in the show personality-wise, which makes it so I'm not just reading the show all over again.

Walt is funnier in the book than in the show. Which I enjoyed in book one. I expect I blow through book two soon, so I'll update the thread with how I'm feeling about the books.

Longmire and Justified are both worth the watch. Bringing justice to the sticks.

I liked the book version of Walt better than the show's version

I really, really liked Justified.

Longmire is not even close to being as good as Justified.
