I'm just wondering what music app you guys use to try and find new songs when you get bored of your current music.

I've done pandora/spotify/amazon music unlimited, but they all get repetitive very quickly in their song selections/recommendations. Was wondering if there is something better out there.

Spotify Discover Weekly Playlist helps me out. Not sure if you use that feature. Do you subscribe or just use the free version?

Right now I pay for amazon's music service, haven't ever used pay version of spotify/pandora before.

Just did the 3 months for $0.99 with Spotify and at this point I'm just mad I didn't do it sooner. I have found hours of good new music in the last few days.

Spotify has a different playlist for new music released by each genre, one personally catered to what you listen to, a playlist for any song ever made that is personally catered to you, and a playlist every Friday for the top songs released that week.

Spotify is really good about this. The Discover Weekly mentioned above is a 30 song playlist that is generated based on your tastes, so it has a mix of songs you haven't played by artists you know and new artists in genres you like. It's good length that is manageable so if you discover 5 new bands off it you can actually look them up and listen to more.

Spotify's New Music Friday Playlist is a pretty good tool to find new music. It can be a pretty big playlist as it generally covers all genres, so you may skip a few in it but there is probably something in there you like. I find about 3-10 songs each week off of it I like. Amazon has a similar new music playlist they update weekly.

Spotify also has Release Radar, which is a personalized playlist of 30 new songs that came out each week based on artists you have listened to. You may not find new artists but it helps keep track of when bands you like put out new material.

I'd try searching for "New *Insert Genre Here* Music Playlist" on any of the services as well. Spotify has a new music playlist for most genres they keep up to date and so does amazon and the other services.

Strongly disagree. It's about 60% mumble rap and crappy hip hop, 20% pop, 10% international / latin, 5% indie alternative, with 1 rock song and 1 country song thrown in.

I NEVER find anything worth a damn from their new music playlist. Even the discover weekly has gotten incredibly stale. Maybe if you are someone who specifically listens to one genre, but Spotify has absolutely no idea what my tastes are and thinks that since i listen to some metal, I want to hear a screamo band from kids just out of high school, or that since i listen to some country that ill like some new bro country track, or that since i listen to some indie that ill like the new Foster the People song. It's so far off its laughable.

Musically, yes. I can't stand most of everything considered new and hip.

Honestly just browsing YouTube will probably be your best bet

True
Browse what you like and see what else comes up. You will probably find some channels that post new music you like from that genre.

What's the best streaming music app overall, without the 'find new music' qualification?

Youtube and Spotify for me, too. Listening to a great band right now (Half Zaftig) that I was reminded of by going down a Spotify rabbit hole.

Still Spotify.

I'm all in on Spotify, but I agree that after a while it's hard to find new music on there without really going out of your way.

By far the easiest to create and share playlists. Like my buddies and I have a gameday playlist that we can all add songs to for example.

Also would be nice if Garth Brooks were on Spotify...
