In GOT world they have written history going back a millennium yet haven't advanced past the iron age. They're the most technically non-evolved society in the history of history. Ok sure, they came up with Valyrian steel and wildfire but when the hell is someone going to figure out electricity or the combustion engine? How many more thousands of years do these people need?
